I agree. Regier always was reactive as opposed to proactive imo. i.e. waiting for the market to set itself etc.

Nolan said with the vets you have to treat them with respect and everything thats happened before is out the window( sounds familiar to what Pegula said about Regier once upon a time ). Sounds like he's giving him every chance to prove himself. Hopefully he helps the team and in doing so ups his trade potential and value then ship him out. I'm afraid with Staff its what you see is what you get. Not much will change at this point in his career.

Given the opportunity and the right players I think he can. He's won 3(i believe) championships in other leagues.

Hodgson actually went into the corner and threw a hit. Granted I missed the first but he looked good to me all night. More than anything I think Nolan and Patty will restore that pride that every Sabre should feel in putting on that jersey. I think they've had the life sucked out of them with DRs #blueprint.

Its a feel good story for sure but beyond that after seeing Ted in his presser after todays practice and listening to the positive attitude and the motivation behind why he coaches etc. , I like this move. Glad Pat called him and offered him the job. I'm excited to be a fan again. There'll still be losses but with a coach like this that demands hard work and effort these guys will be playing for playing time and I'm alright with that.

Thanks LGR. Just read your post now. Sometimes things get heated in discussions and I understand that. No hard feelings. I mostly enjoy your contributions to the board and agree on your assessment above about the type of personalities this team needs.

I think Terry has seen the light so to speak. He did what he said he would do and gave DR a good shot to get things right but with a fan base that was crying for change he had to pull the trigger. This goes a long way for me in showing he is serious about his promise to the people of Buffalo that the ultimate goal is the cup first and foremost. I commend him for making what for him was probably a tough decision. GO SABRES !

I'm not sure if its been mentioned. I just got in and don't have time to read through the entire thread(s). One of my favourite moments from Teds previous incarnation as a Sabres coach was when he brought in the Hanson Brothers of slapshot fame for a pre-game pep talk. Of course this team at that time could go with anybody with the likes of Ray,,May,Barnaby,Boughner which was nice having that swagger. Does anyone have a clip of the Hanson bros in the room for the pep talk. I remember seeing it at the time and thought it would be cool for some of the younger guys to see it.

I've been waiting a loooooooong time for this day. With that being said though I have no ill will towards Either DR or RR and I wish them both the best. Feel bad for Ron as he was put in a shittty position which I'll add he accepted but anyways good luck guys. Darcys had a good run. Time to move on.
