Imo its so beyond warped that this unsubstantiated crap is even out there. I was a fan when this all went down and I never heard this and rightfully so. Heard the stuff about players wives and didn't believe those ones but this coach/player shite is enquirer fodder that should never have seen the light of day. Does Steve Cichon have any credibility. I wouldn't read anything of his after reading this.

Nolan said with the vets you have to treat them with respect and everything thats happened before is out the window( sounds familiar to what Pegula said about Regier once upon a time ). Sounds like he's giving him every chance to prove himself. Hopefully he helps the team and in doing so ups his trade potential and value then ship him out. I'm afraid with Staff its what you see is what you get. Not much will change at this point in his career.

Given the opportunity and the right players I think he can. He's won 3(i believe) championships in other leagues.

Hodgson actually went into the corner and threw a hit. Granted I missed the first but he looked good to me all night. More than anything I think Nolan and Patty will restore that pride that every Sabre should feel in putting on that jersey. I think they've had the life sucked out of them with DRs #blueprint.

Its a feel good story for sure but beyond that after seeing Ted in his presser after todays practice and listening to the positive attitude and the motivation behind why he coaches etc. , I like this move. Glad Pat called him and offered him the job. I'm excited to be a fan again. There'll still be losses but with a coach like this that demands hard work and effort these guys will be playing for playing time and I'm alright with that.

Thanks LGR. Just read your post now. Sometimes things get heated in discussions and I understand that. No hard feelings. I mostly enjoy your contributions to the board and agree on your assessment above about the type of personalities this team needs.

I think Terry has seen the light so to speak. He did what he said he would do and gave DR a good shot to get things right but with a fan base that was crying for change he had to pull the trigger. This goes a long way for me in showing he is serious about his promise to the people of Buffalo that the ultimate goal is the cup first and foremost. I commend him for making what for him was probably a tough decision. GO SABRES !

I'm not sure if its been mentioned. I just got in and don't have time to read through the entire thread(s). One of my favourite moments from Teds previous incarnation as a Sabres coach was when he brought in the Hanson Brothers of slapshot fame for a pre-game pep talk. Of course this team at that time could go with anybody with the likes of Ray,,May,Barnaby,Boughner which was nice having that swagger. Does anyone have a clip of the Hanson bros in the room for the pep talk. I remember seeing it at the time and thought it would be cool for some of the younger guys to see it.

I've been waiting a loooooooong time for this day. With that being said though I have no ill will towards Either DR or RR and I wish them both the best. Feel bad for Ron as he was put in a shittty position which I'll add he accepted but anyways good luck guys. Darcys had a good run. Time to move on.

My question was about a G.M.s drafting record when people he had drafted went on to win the cup. ( which may or may not have anything to do with the G.M. ) Which was what I was trying to learn from the other posters who were I might add doing a fine job of explaining it to me without personal attacks. No that is not the logic being expounded. That is not what I am trying to say. This is more about the G.M.s Lgr than the players. If you read the post that was in response to you you'd get that. But you just keep on with your tough guy act Lgr. It looks good on you. No need to join in the conversation and show some civility.

You and blue have managed to reply and explain to me what I was simply asking with out calling me stupid, dumb ,idiotic and resorting to personal attacks and I appreciate that. All I was saying is there should be some sort of accolade to G.M.s who have drafted well and won cups and I guess there is anyways. They get the cudos from their peers which is enough. And to you Lgr I always thought of you as a pretty intelligent poster. You've gone a long way to proving me wrong. I'm confident if you and I were sitting having a beer you wouldn't talk to me the same way you have here. Maybe you were having a bad day.
