U.S. wins this one 4-1. Canadians have had a dismal 7% shooting percentage and have yet to put it all together while the U.S. has gelled. If it comes down to goaltending U.S. has the lead. With that, Go Canadeh !

SPOILER GDT: USA v. CANADA WOMEN'S GOLD MEDAL GAME
bunomatic replied to Eleven's topic in The Aud Club
I guess what it has to do with today is people on the board saying fukc Canada and Canadians because of the officiating. I was just pointing out that officiating has been much worse. As recently as 2002. -
SPOILER GDT: USA v. CANADA WOMEN'S GOLD MEDAL GAME
bunomatic replied to Eleven's topic in The Aud Club
Another one everyone forgets when they throw around terrible officiating is Salt Lake City. Gold medal game between U.S. / Can. womens teams. Canada won 3-2 but not before overcoming what may have been the worst officiating ever where they were penalized what was it ? 8 times in a row. I could be wrong. Correct me if I am because there's no way one team would be penalized 8 times in a row against a host nation in a gold medal game would they ? Was the fix in on that one or what ? -
SPOILER GDT: USA v. CANADA WOMEN'S GOLD MEDAL GAME
bunomatic replied to Eleven's topic in The Aud Club
My point is why temp fate ? She had been warned. Also. Do you remember the delay of game penalty in soccer against the Canadian keeper in London when the U.S. player counted the seconds off to the ref ? these things have a way of coming full circle. The keeper had been warned about holding up the game. She continued to do so and the American player put the ref in the spotlight by counting down the seconds. The ref had to make the call. I blame the Canadian keeper. Not the ref. -
Yup. You're the only one. ;)

SPOILER GDT: USA v. CANADA WOMEN'S GOLD MEDAL GAME

Great game. Apparently the U.S. player was warned earlier about slashing the goalie so the call was apt. Was she just daft and figured the ref wouldn't make the call ? Certainly undisciplined. Calls went both ways as they usually do. -

If Tavares is recovering into next year there's no way in hell they defer to next year.

Unless you're Canadian.

It wouldn't be all that bad if its someone else's 1st round pick that we've wrangled out of someone via a trade. A long shot but one can hope.

In 3 years I want to draft this kid. Jakub Chychrun who is currently 15, 6'2"- 200 lb defence playing on a Toronto midget team. Already saying he's the next big one. Holds dual citizenship and hails from Florida but moved North for hockey. T.S.N. currently has a write up on him and his dad a former N.H.L.er.

Sizzle I have to agree with your assessment. It seems like Canada tried to go with 4 first lines picking solely who they thought were the best players rather than picking the right guys to fill rolls while the American brass picked what amounts to a team with roll players as well as stars. From what I've seen Canada has yet to hit their stride while the Americans are firing on all cylinders. I'm afraid it'll be the States taking this one and getting a little payback for 2010. That being said, GO CANADA. May the best team win. Good luck to all you American fans. I always thought a chesterfield was something you smoked. :P

I agree. A year or two in the A.H.L. is what he needs. Make him hungry for the big show. Watching lesser talents get the call up because they outworked him wouldn't hurt also.

Hired: Tim Murray, GM and Craig Patrick, Advisor
bunomatic replied to That Aud Smell's topic in The Aud Club
I seem to remember when Black was first hired people on the board saying its a great hire because look what he was a part of in Pittsburgh. Well the business side will naturally pick up as the on ice product gets better so essentially Black had absolutely nada to do with the success that happened in Pittsburgh if he had nothing to do with the hockey side of the business. Yes/no ? -
Anyone read the comics ? On talking dead they mentioned we're at about issue 58 or so in the comics and there are around 150 of them. They also mentioned a character from the comics that is so evil that they're not sure if he is transferable to the small screen as a character. Anyone have any insight into this character from the books ?

If Canada is going to lose to somebody why not Ted and the Zemgus of girgenson. As someone else has mentioned this would be Latvias miracle on ice. And it would amount to a whole lot of hand wringing and a national suicide watch for much of the country in Canada with calls from bloated self important politicians for a national inquiry. Should be fun.

I've heard it before and it won't happen but if you want to open up the game get rid of the coaches. Yesterday coach talked of playing a patient game because of Finlands stifling style and the fact that the Finns were waiting for Canada to make a mistake so they could make them pay. In essence Canada with loads of offensive talent has to play down to their opponents level rather than opening the game up and dictating play. Defense seems to win championships so thats how the teams will play. Also the point about calling the holding etc. is spot on. I was surprised with all of the grabbing and holding by both sides in that game. It seems the refs are afraid to change the outcome.
