Seattles a great place and they have great fans. But I want that pick dammit ! I mentioned this a few weeks ago also and a few on the board thought it wouldn't happen in that timeframe but we all know if that beady eyed Bettman wants something done he'll get er done.

Doug McLean said this past week that the Canucks are working on something big and it won't be players people would expect. Whatever that means ? He is considered an insider but how reliable his information is is anybodies guess. I could see them shaking things up. They've been in a season long funk. Maybe something with the Rangers ? -
I'd love to see one of them gnarly zombies pinch a big 3 or 4 coiler right there on the screen.

This was my line of thinking. Why would you even want people talking about this in such a big tournament? It puts all the focus on the officials instead of on the game.

Ah good one woody. Canada has a proud history of wartime contributions that won't be diminished by your lack of knowledge in that regard. In fact during both WW1 and WW2 thousands of your countrymen joined the Canadian forces for a chance to go into battle long before the Americans officially declared war. But I've gone off topic. ;) I'll be getting up at 4am. Its going to be epic. Go Canada

Peter Forsberg has fired the first volley in the Gold medal game officiating controversy. ' It's a fukcing joke ' or words to that effect was what he said. The game is to be officiated by Canadian refs and I have to say I agree with Forsberg. If you can't have a fair situation for all teams involved at least try to have the appearance of fairness to both teams. Why can't it be U.S. N.H.L. officials if it has to be experienced N.H.L. officials ? As a Canadian I find this odd. I can understand why a Swede would be pissed.

What everyone seems to have forgotten in all of this talk about the women showing emotion after the game and into the medal ceremony is that this is it for the women. They have no Stanley cup to aspire to. The Gold medal is their Stanley cup. Silver or bronze is a loss. Woman can be tough as nails but they can also be vulnerable and emotional in ways men might not understand. There's no shame in crying. The U.S. women have nothing to be ashamed about. On a side note I think their coach should have called a time out when it started to go south to settle things down. Her bad.

The Canadian team has possibly the best lineup of defencemen the Olympics has seen IMO. I'm sure that would translate pretty good to the N.H.L.

I look at the money spent (51 billion) by the host country alone, the corruption of politicians, The money spent on athletes etc by other nations, and can't help but wonder if the Olympic ideal is even worth carrying on. A two week sporting event thats largely overhyped and overexposed that benefits very few individuals but indebts generations of people in the host countries. Its hard to justify. As much as I enjoy olympic hockey I could really care less if the N.H.L. goes back in Korea.

I'm with you Claude, its based on a comic series which in and of itself is fantasy so...I just want to be entertained and I have been. I'm not going to dissect the nuances of the show or its lack of realism. Its a zombie show.
