Frankly Ted looks like hell right now. I realize that Pat was a good friend but why does Ted have to keep repeating to the media that something bad happened to a dear friend and now , when he is emotional isn't the time to get into it in case he says something he'll regret. Does he think the organization hasn't seen these soundbites he gives the media ? Just suck it up Ted. I actually have a lot of respect for Ted Nolan. I think he's a stand up guy with principals. Sure he's made mistakes in the past but he seems to have tried to better himself and has grown in the process. None of us are lily white. Lead by example Ted and coach this team. Minnesota was in on the Miller trade but the asking price got too rich for them according to Dreger/BMac over at TSN. Why is that so hard to believe ? I think TM was most likely playing both teams to get a bidding war going and the wild bailed. Most of the hockey world knew of the rumours of Miller to the Blues. It certainly wasn't someone on this board who got that started. And armstrong suggested last week that the Blues were content with Halak and didn't need Miller.

I just read the transcript of the presser. I'm ok with the official explanation. They bungled the perception of this whole thing but apparently they were all surprised by Pats decision. Everyones moving forward. Tim Murray has his vision and a plan moving forward and I'm on board with that. I trust this guy. He seems confident in his vision and so far has been a straight shooter with his honesty and availability to the media. I think Pat has his reasons which we may never know and I'm ok with that too. Its his life. People need to relax, sit back and enjoy the ride. Nobody made any promises that it wouldn't be a bumpy ride. The future looks bright. GO SABRES !

Also there's word that the wild may have been in on the Miller thing but it became too rich for them. Halak or someone else could be the fallback plan ?
