Brother in law bless his heart bought me a slug hat. I still haven't worn it to this day. If there was an ounce of something redeeming in that design the hat might be worth something one day. As it is now I'm thinking of giving it to someone down at the homeless shelter. I also recieved a slug shirt on that same birthday from someone else turning the screw. I did try that one on.

I hear the talk on sports radio here on the west coast all the time where they say how much of a shitole Buffalo is and its always when talking to reporters out of Toronta with a nudge nudge wink wink kind of thing or an inside joke but its very common. Today the guys from sportstalk 1040 who are currently in Buffalo were saying how Buffalo is the best hockey market in the U.S. bar none. It was largely based on the tv ratings but I was pleasantly surprised that for once they had some nice things to say about the city. I've never been to Buffalo but its always a sore point for me when I hear some talking head talk trash about Buffalo. Being a fan of the team most of my life makes me want to drop the gloves when I hear that shite.

Grew up with the Hip like many others and I suppose its a cliche but their music was the soundtrack to our lives. Only saw The Hip once and was in awe of Gordie and how in the midst of a song he could morph into an encyclopedia and veer off onto some sidestreet and sing about the undulating blubber of a blue whale while the band jammed on around him then back into the song without missing a beat. So entertaining and tight from years on the road. Hopefully I'll get an opportunity to see them again. As to the Bruins sweater I'd heard Harry Sinden was his uncle or godfather. Not sure its true but it makes sense. Stay strong Gordie.

And I actually felt bad for Miller when Sid scored the winner in the gold medal game instead of feeling ecstatic that Canada won. Weird. Soon got over that feeling but I know what you mean.
