I recently saw a commercial out of China thats trying to sell laundry detergent. In the ad a Chinese female takes a black man and stuffs him in her washing machine. She proceeds to pour the detergent on the man and closes the lid. After the wash is finished she opens the machine and out pops a sparkling clean Chinese guy. Her eyes light up. End of grossly racist commercial. I don't have a link but its floating around out there causing shock and outrage as it should everywhere but China apparently. Have a look if you can find it. I was shocked and I don't shock easily but its worth a look and since it is so politically incorrect I thought it deserved mention.

Went to Tokyo this past Christmas. A city of 35 million that has its shite together as far as transit and well pretty much everything. Great place . Great people. I'm sure they'll do it right with little to no glitches.

What Disappointed You the Most this Offseason?
bunomatic replied to WildCard's topic in The Aud Club
Kanes lack of maturity. He's still young but he's a professional athlete and he represents the Sabres so its time to grow up. -
I'm not trying to be a dick but in my mind that would almost make her half male. Or would that make him half female ? In any event I would have to agree with Pastajoe. Its really not fair to the females competing in that event because she doesn't really fit the description of female without going over the line into male territory.

Evander Kane arrested on misdemeanor charge for June nightclub incident
bunomatic replied to Hoss's topic in The Aud Club
Where is Kane spending his offseason ? Vancouver ? Hanging out at the Roxy or laying low ? You would think his hometown and the place he grew up would have more distractions than the city of Buffalo. Hopefully he's working his asss off in the gym trying to be a difference maker and prove everyone wrong much like the other Kane did last season. -
Off Topic Gord Downie has terminal brain cancer
bunomatic replied to darksabre's topic in The Aud Club
Viewing party in my living room. I'll most likely be the only audience member as I want to enjoy the show with no interuptions. Me and Gord go way back. Its funny and I'm sure many of you feel the same but its a friendship on a very personal level and we've never met. He doesn't know I exist though I'm sure our eyes met that one time I was able to see the Hip in concert. When I was younger I would write lyrics that I had intended to send to him. Of course that never transpired and they still sit in my junk drawer with the ticket stub to the show. But tomorrow night anything is possible. Gord will transport all of us back to a time when we all thought the albums would keep coming . To a time when his demise wasn't possible or thought of because our heroes don't die that way. In a way its not Ry Cooder singing his eulogy its Gordy singing his own eulogy. Thats what makes this experience so strange and beautiful and sad. And joyous. And we'll all be experiencing it together. Today I met a customer in her apartment and she had the hip on the stereo. She had to be pushing 70 and she mentioned how she was sad she had never got the chance to see them live. I felt bad saying that I had and marvelled at the wide range of people of all ages that enjoyed his craft. The lyrics that touched everyone so deeply. For the Canadian fans the Canadiana and the history that spoke to you and that you already knew instinctively from your grade school lessons. But of course we can't claim him as our own because he touched everyone equally. Tomorrow he will touch us fully completely and I can't friggin wait. Enjoy the show. -
Agreed. This team has to start winning and winning consistently in order for Buffalo to become a destination.

Bah ! He's a BUM ! Still like GMTMs move to get the rights but this has all become a huge waste of time and energy by us fans. Overjoyed he didn't go to the laughs. Not sure if I would consider Buffalo a destination quite yet.

Sabres, top 6, 10-15

I like the dump and chase if they use it to punish the opposing D men. Other than that its maddening to give up possession of the puck. Anyways I also subscribe to the theory upthread that as your roster improves you'll see less of that Dump. At least on the top lines.

Saw some twitter stuff today where lots of NY sports figures and celebrities n such were telling Jimmy to sign with the blueshirts. Don't have a link and don't use twitter myself but thought some of you twits might have something. I say that last part with the utmost respect. Not sure what else to call someone that tweets. ;)

Same same.

I agree Hoss. Placing the games in a country where 98% of the population is dirt poor and where re roofing your house means putting up another sheet of plastic just does not make any sense. Where does the money come from for these games ? Thats right. Tax the poor and cut programs for the poor. Not that many years ago there was a story about off duty cops in Rio forming hit squads to kill street kids. I wonder if that sort of stuff happened leading up to these games ? And with the cheating that apparently happened in Sochi with the Russian team it doesn't take a leap to support the notion that all countries in some form or another have state sponsored cheating happening. The olympics is a scam that benefits very few people.

That could have gone horribly wrong.

Could someone just lock this thread. We'll continue to go in circles cause Ducky has a cross to bare. It is possible that 5 or 6 years from now we can say that so and so won the trade but who really cares ? We got rid of Staff and Myers and guaranteed ourselves Eichel which was a damn fine consolation prize. Winnipeg has a good group of prospects and so does Buff. Both teams are on an upward trajectory even though the peg took a slight step back last season. But Ducky God bless him will continue to troll the entire board every chance he sees an opening. That is pretty much guaranteed.
