  1. So the verdict, based on history and all the posts, is that we've probably never had a great GM.
  2. Hockey News doesn't list him in their top 100 prospects. Everyone's confused.
  3. Hockey News doesn't know what to make of him and they list him as a right wing. They love his skating but not his production. Also, they question his "initiative," whatever that's supposed to mean.
  4. Clearly we should have hired you as GM. Isn't that the point?
  5. Hope the "tank" is big enough for Peterson and Vesey.
  6. If he's given a 2-3rd grade, he's not a Risto clone.
  7. Good to see that Bot isn't shy about making a move. Can't argue with this one.
  8. Yes, he has no NHL HC experience. But every great coach at one time had no HC experience. We shall see.
  9. Old timers may recall that they weren't the greatest team ever and they weren't even in the NHL, but a mid-50s Bison team (possibly '54-'55), a farm team of the Canadians, had EIGHT 20+ goal scorers and defensemen such as Frankie Eddolls and Pierre Pilote. That may have also been the team Jacques Plante played on.
  10. Perhaps Miller had a better D in front of him. Lot's goes into this equation.
  11. The second Philly goal was terrible. McCabe dropped off his man to clog the middle, where we already had coverage, and the guy had all day to blast away on the vacated right side with no one anywhere near him.
  12. Three games in and the engine has unfortunately blown 2 pistons; so the vehicle has slowed down considerably. To some it must all be the drivers fault. But how many Indy drivers get fired because of that sort of thing occurring?
  13. The team looks extremely well coached. What especially stood out to me was the dominant forechecking. The Sabres of the last x number of years would send one skater at the puck carrier and the guy would sort of waive at the carrier and nonchalantly drift away from him. Tonight we were frequently sending two skaters deep into the zone to really harass the puck handler and make the breakout very difficult. Aside from the forecheck, we were on the puck all night and hitting like it mattered. BTW, Lucic remains a p---k, and it's clearly rubbing off on other Oilers.
  14. Anyone truly satisfied with Lehner as the starter? Murray may love him but what exactly has he shown? Rebuild all you want but it really starts in the goal. A trade may definitely be in the offing.
  15. If this kid signs with us, give Murray a big raise. Failed Psch 101 it appears.
