  1. Quite appropriate since his team plays likes it's in labor most of the time.
  2. From all appearances, and based on what the press is saying, Botterill blew it. He waited too long to pull the trigger hoping for the ultimate outcome and put himself in the position of being at the mercy, at the deadline, of whoever would be willing to give him a nibble. And that's exactly what he got, a nibble. One would think he should have been able to acquire an unconditional future first round pick, and nothing else, for Kane, despite the fact he could be a rental. Or get a prime prospect or two. Instead, he got taken, unless there's any chance Kane will sign with San Jose. But hey, it's Buffalo sports.
  3. What team would honestly want Lehner, aka "Murray's Folly."
  4. On the Sabres' sorry late "power play" the Caps announcers said the Sabres seem to have no clue what to do out there. It certainly looked like it.
  5. Ruff is no longer here. I can't distinguish between Housley being calm or lost. It could well be the latter, or perhaps all of the above.
  6. Grubauer is a very good goalie, which isn't that noticeable since he's wasting away behind Holtby. Love to have him but he's not likely available for another year.
  7. If Lehner's a trade candidate, who would want him other than as a back-up? How do other back-ups compare with him salary wise? If no one would want him as a back-up because of his salary, he better only be a back-up on this team or be released. What a waste, Murray! Names?
  8. Guess who, among many others, won't be here next season?
  9. Does this team ever practice the power play? They act lost out there.
  10. A mediocre goalie is a mediocre goalie. A lot of easy or relatively easy saves doesn't make a goalie a star; it only is a reflection on the team's defense.
  11. Ugly period. Sabres are often out of position, bunching up in both zones, selectively hustling, going thru the motions forechecking, refusing to shoot on the power play, and when they do, taking the low percentage shot. Plus Lehner remains a Murray mistake - he's slow and often out of position.
  12. Can Nylander please get his brother to coach him up?
  13. High sprains can be very tricky. May be best to shut him down for the season. I don't think it'll negatively impact our rush to the playoffs.
  14. How big is he? If he's going to "take it to the net," as he says, he better have some size to do it up here.
  15. Relentless forecheck is not a Sabres thing, unfortunately.
