off topic Star Wars - now with SPOILERS! (Read at your own risk)

I saw it tonight with the family and liked it. Good summaries here gentlemen. I too preferred this one to The Force Awakens (which was enjoyable due to seeing everyone from my teenage years again, but was also pretty hokey and derivative of the 1st trilogy IMHO). Good response. -
I thought Sullivan's column was completely fair and accurate. The Bills remain an utter and complete Mickey Mouse organization. There is simply no justification for keeping RB and DW in charge. Does anyone doubt that the team will continue to stink next year?

It seems like the 2 front-runners are Anthony Lynn and Tom Coughlin. I think I'd be OK with either, subject to a good answer on the QB question. As far as that goes, I want to either keep TT or bring in a real QB that somehow pops loose (like Rivers, Brees, etc.). EJ or some vet retread is definitely not OK.

Movies / TV Shows - I Have Watched / Plan To Watch

I've been binge-watching "The Night Manager" on Amazon the past few days. Pretty good 6-part spy thriller. -
If it's another 5-1 loss, does DDB get canned in the AM?

Good to see ya TW and hope you had a great Xmas!

I think once you enter a hot tub, you are assuming that all kinds of cheezy home pornos have taken place and trusting that the water has been hot enough to kill anything gnarly. Otherwise you're just kidding yourself.

Yes indeed.

That's quite a setup, and I think we are all happy for you but I'm a bit concerned that you were inclined, in that circumstance, to post hereas opposed to pursuing other matters.

Good to see ya APus!

Hamilton: Eichel benched on PP vs. Canes for "disciplinary reasons"

This is where I am as well. If they don't come out next game like their hair is on fire then DDB needs to go ASAP. -
Good to see ya Duds! A very Merry Xmas to you and yours.

Indeed. If the conversation here hasn't been the enjoyable diversion it's supposed to be -- take a couple of weeks off (I used to disappear for most of the summers), but don't delete the bookmark or forget your password. It's quite possible that we'll have a new coach and a winning streak in a few weeks' time, and Jackie Boy will have us seeing stars. In the meantime, I wish everyone a very Merry Xmas/Happy Hannuka/Fun Festivus/etc. I hope everyone gets some time off with friends and family and has a great start to 2017. (Holy mackerel there was a huge blowout argument among my in-laws -- fortunately not including my wife -- and the big family Xmas almost got cancelled. Order was restored and the plans were back on as of yesterday, but things are still a bit touchy.)

Seconded.

Very happy to see you 11. Great post too. -
Here's an idea that occurred to me last night: Reino's assist on Larsson's goal was a thing of beauty. Dudacek's point on Reino all along has been that Reino should be playing center (or centre, as you prefer), and that his talents are being squandered at wing. Why not try Reino at #3 center, with Kane and Gionta on the wings? Yes, that would result in bumping Larsson to #4C, which might be a bit unfair to him, but they need to try something -- both for the offense generally and for Reino in particular.

Murray and Bylmsa: how long will they stay together?
nfreeman replied to dudacek's topic in The Aud Club
Wow. Excellent post by Flagg to get this going. I'm not sure how qualified we are (most of us, anyway) to evaluate Xs and Os, but I do think that it's reasonably likely that DDB was at least as much of a TP hire as he was a GMTM hire. TP has shown a proclivity for the splashy, big-name coach hire, and it's at least plausible that he's taken this decision out of the GM's hands. I also think it's reasonably likely that GMTM expected much more out of this team than what we're seeing now (although TBPhD's point about GMTM possibly preferring Kings East as a style of play shouldn't be overlooked here). If so, and if this continues for another dozen games, he's gotta start thinking about making a change. I can't say I'd be unhappy if that's how it plays out. -
I wonder if they'll show up for the 1st period tonight?

Good stuff here. Keep it coming. I really think Kulikov is a big step up from Pysyk.

Pls send my regards and also check on Chz if you have a minute. -
While I agree that Coughlin seems like a quintessential TP move, and my initial reaction is a high level of confidence that it wouldn't work, when I force myself to be honest with myself, I have to admit that I would probably tune in next year to see the results. I'm so weak.

Good stuff. I might add that it's also probably a factor of how often the Sabres start in their D-zone -- i.e. since they are still a lower-rung NHL team, they probably start an above-average number of possessions in the D-zone, which affects all of their defensemen. The Karlsson point is interesting too. When I was at the NYI-Ott game a few days ago, I didn't see Karlsson for a while and was wondering whether he was out with an injury -- but they were just saving him for an O-zone faceoff.

Cellino and Barnes also has a pretty big presence in NYC, FWIW.
