  1. He didn't look good in preseason. I haven't given up on him, I just said that it isn't looking good. Is there any other kind?
  2. If only I gambled...or presently had access to gambling...this seems like a good place to put an investment that doesn't require selling the house.
  3. There are three threads that, however denominated, are on the same topic. One is called "your 2022-2023 Sabres" or something like that, one is called "22-23 expectations," or something like that, and then there is this one, with the most specific title of the three (not that the others were bad). They all seek the same commentary, though. So I'm going to self-report this post in the hope that the mods can clean it up--and maybe they can't. Anyway, on to the substance: If Anderson and Comrie can hold the net, this team can challenge for 7 or 8. But I don't think they can. As happy as I was that Adams took a chance on Comrie, it isn't looking good. And Anderson is a known quantity. Unless the Sabres realize that UPL is a better goalie in Buffalo than in Rochester, or sign Levi on a prayer (I have given up on Portillo--he doesn't want to be here), it goes nowhere. The D is too shaky and the scorers are too young. Without changes in net, we are looking at 6-7th in the division and a complementary placement in the East.
  4. Not only were they, but so were the Chiefs. It just happened that the Bengals, who weren't, and the Rams, who probably weren't either, got lucky. Luck does affect sports. (Very obviously, if you watched the Bills-Chiefs game, which came down to the flip of a coin; if you want a Sabres example, well, there was a spin of a wheel a long time ago.)
  5. I like the addition of last year's pace.
  6. NFL coaching is unusually risk-averse when considering normal risk/reward information. The Bills no longer are punting in inappropriate situations, but for how many years did they, even in the face of hard data suggesting that punting on 4th and 2 from the opponent's 43 is a bad move? How many teams still do it now? (I think about 29 or 30.)
  7. EXACTLY. Everyone knew Tony Montana was a leader, no matter what line he was on.
  8. I have no idea who some of those guys are. I feel like I slept through the preseason.
  9. This is the answer.
  10. Yeah, he maintains that while he has cheated in online games, he never has cheated in over-the-board play. It's an interesting story to follow.
  11. I didn't know dogs could run on ice. What about coyotes?
  12. Just curious as to how you cook something like that. And what sauce(s) go well with it?
  13. I'm just going to remind everyone that Sosa, McGwire, and Bonds were hitting against pitchers who also were roided up. Aaron Judge, thank you for finally winning the whatever prize in the whatever league.
  14. Well that's a problem. The Sabres already have a GM.
  15. And Tua. He was the one who wanted to come back in on Sunday. He's still young, too. Let's not forget that--the proper job of the doctor is to shut down the player regardless of what the player wants. Yes, see above.
  16. Dylan Cozens could be Michael Peca and could also be Pat LaFontaine, at this stage. Or anything less, or more, or in between, or whatever. I'm not worried.
  17. This game is a little sleepy and so am I.
  18. Yep. Can't be dropping games to last place teams in September.
  19. OK thanks! Thank you.
  20. What am I not understanding? Surely he could command more than that.
  21. I see it about the same way I see the Andrew Peters golf swing, I guess.
  22. Yeah, last year. I took my dad as well. Now that Toronto is in, I'd like to see the Orioles get in, too, but they weren't doing themselves any favors by losing games to the likes of Detroit recently.
  23. Ok, I don't love Zegras, but that's a pretty funny response.
