  1. Yes, thanks for your service, but it was the Yankees! So, were you drafted by them? Just saw something that the first MLB Draft was in 65. I remember a high school classmate was drafted by the Pirates and also didn’t sign.
  2. You’re right on with the Kawhi comparison, who did it first with San Antonio and now again with the Clippers.
  3. I say he won’t be traded until there’s a clearer picture regarding his injury and I don’t think that’ll be before 7/23.
  4. I agree with you. While many trade scenarios include the Sabres getting another 1st round pick in the upcoming draft, I can’t see a team wanting to trade for Jack with his health future unknown. If a team was willing to trade for him now, the Sabres wouldn’t be getting much in return anyways.
  5. Murray was embarrassing at the draft and came across as a moron. While every other GM was saying things like “The Blankety Blanks would like to thank the ‘host city’ for their hospitality. With the nth pick in the 20xx NHL Draft, the Blankety Blanks are proud to select ‘player’ from the Bippity Bops of the So-and-so Hockey League”, Murray just says “Jack Eichel”.
  6. But, of course, they’ll lower them when all is back to normal
  7. So, is he good on the “power play”?
  8. Yeah, I like the idea of holding onto Reinhardt until the trade deadline. Then he/the team/we can first see how the returns on the Eichel deal fit and go from there. If by some miracle that the team is in playoff contention at the deadline, then try and talk him into resigning. If he refuses, get what you can to help the playoff push and/or the future.
  9. That is one of the many animals that when I consider their creation I say “What were they thinking?”
  10. And another mistake there was letting Hasek dictate the other half of the trade. If he really wanted out, he would’ve folded on his demands.
  11. What was the ballpark recovery time for this surgery Jack wants?
  12. If Jack is liquified, I can’t see any team interested in trading for a bucket of human liquid.
  13. Then, let Eichel get back to 100% and show he’s healthy and take it from there. However, If the Sabres have a slow start, Jack’s unhappiness could rear its ugly head again and they could be forced into making a deal. I do agree, though, this injury could likely affect any offers.
  14. I’ll say. I moved out here to California and it’s mainly chains. First experience was with Straw Hat and I ordered a small. It was very small and was like $9. I was then amazed when I’d go back to Buffalo and a large was still like $6 and tasted a lot better. Didn’t change much thru the 1990s. Haven’t been back in a while.
  15. This is similar to the O’Reilly situation. To me, when Ryan, as captain, says he’s not having fun playing hockey, he had to go. Unfortunately they got garbage in return for him. Eichel does not seem to be a good leader, so him being captain is sketchy. Keeping him but making someone else the captain wouldn’t work. He expressed disappointment in losing at the end of last season, which can be good but now comes off as a whiner that doesn’t want to be in Buffalo any longer. If Adams is going to trade him, he just needs to hold out for the best possible package. They just can’t get garbage back for him. If they don’t feel offers are good enough, don’t trade him then. Some team will likely up the ante eventually. Also, unless the best offer by far comes from an eastern team, they need to trade him to the west.
  16. Yeah, I’d definitely talk to Seattle. They’d have more flexibility in building their team. You’d think they’d jump at a deal for Eichel to start their team with instead of relying on a bunch of fading veterans and unproven youngsters.
  17. I’ll never forget the experience listening to a San Francisco Giants radio broadcast by a Phil Stone, who had previously only done TV broadcasting. His call was something like this: “Here’s the pitch. Centerfielder’s under it. Inning over.”
  18. And Granato was the coach at the start, Reinhardt was playing center the whole year, Dahlin was allowed to play free, etc.
  19. Islanders had already clinched a playoff spot and are only playing for seeding. You’d think they’d want to avoid Washington as they were 2-6 vs them. Also 3-5 vs Pens. 5-2 vs Boston with one remaining. To those who saw the game, did Isles take the Sabres lightly these last 2 games?
  20. Is he related to actress Renee Zellweger?
  21. A long solid career. Very good for a 5th round pick.
