I’ll say. I moved out here to California and it’s mainly chains. First experience was with Straw Hat and I ordered a small. It was very small and was like $9. This is similar to the O’Reilly situation. To me, when Ryan, as captain, says he’s not having fun playing hockey, he had to go. Unfortunately they got garbage in return for him. Eichel does not seem to be a good leader, so him being captain is sketchy. Keeping him but making someone else the captain wouldn’t work. He expressed disappointment in losing at the end of last season, which can be good but now comes off as a whiner that doesn’t want to be in Buffalo any longer. If Adams is going to trade him, he just needs to hold out for the best possible package. They just can’t get garbage back for him. If they don’t feel offers are good enough, don’t trade him then. Some team will likely up the ante eventually. Also, unless the best offer by far comes from an eastern team, they need to trade him to the west.

Yeah, I’d definitely talk to Seattle. They’d have more flexibility in building their team. You’d think they’d jump at a deal for Eichel to start their team with instead of relying on a bunch of fading veterans and unproven youngsters.

Wouldn’t this offseason be a good opportunity for a trade? I don’t want to see it, but teams have to prepare for the expansion draft. They may be more willing to give up players in trade to get something in return, rather than losing them in the expansion draft for nothing. From the Sabres standpoint, doesn’t this youth movement also put them in better position for the expansion draft? They can expose guys like Okposo and Hutton, while not needing to do anything regarding some of these youngsters, if I recall the rules correctly.

How about this stat: Sabres have 21 goals scored by defensemen this season in 42 games. In the 14 games with Granato in charge (and Girardi added) they have 10 goals scored by defensemen. Talk about a change in philosophy. I like it.

The NHL playoffs usually are determined by goaltending, defense and balance. My prediction is a Finals of Tampa Bay (Vasielevsky) and Colorado (Grubauer) with Tampa winning again.

Unless you were in the room with Adams fielding offers, it’s hard for anyone to say he should’ve got more in return. That being said, why not wait until closer to the deadline to MAYBE getting a better offer? Again, though, we don’t know how it happened. If it was the only or best offer and Boston pushed for a decision or they were moving on, then Adams would’ve felt he had to agree.
