  1. The Big 3?
  2. I would bet money on the Kraken and I’m not much of a gambler.
  3. So, do they make these protected lists public?
  4. So, the Vegas Golden Knights, who have made the playoffs in their first 4 years, and advanced far in 3 of them, don’t lose anybody in this Seattle expansion draft? WTF? I don’t see a precedent for this. When the Sabres and Vancouver were added in 1970, they were able to take players from the 6 teams added in 1967. Of course, if they didn’t that would’ve meant all the players taken would’ve had to come from the original six teams. When, the Islanders and Flames were added in 1972, the Sabres and Canucks were part of the expansion draft. The big difference between then and now is the protected lists. For the 1972 expansion Draft, the existing teams were able to protect 2 goaltenders and 17 skaters.
  5. Ulmark is a free agent. Unless they re-sign him before the protected lists are submitted, he can’t be protected.
  6. Oloffson is generally thought of as a power play sniper and not much more. I was surprised recently to notice that he led the team in assists, although only 19. Eight of those were on the power play.
  7. But it’s Linus’s decision to stay or leave. None of these free agent goalies may even consider signing with the Sabres.
  8. Here’s the free agent goalie list per nhl.com. I could see going for a F.Anderson, Bernier, Driedger (probable top available), Mrazek, Reimer. https://www.nhl.com/news/top-unrestricted-free-agent-goalies-available/c-325629978?tid=281072352
  9. His representatives quarreled with the Spurs for months about how to treat his quad injury. Kawhi himself stayed silent and the relationship deteriorated quickly.
  10. Yes, thanks for your service, but it was the Yankees! So, were you drafted by them? Just saw something that the first MLB Draft was in 65. I remember a high school classmate was drafted by the Pirates and also didn’t sign.
  11. Yes, he’s very likable.
  12. You’re right on with the Kawhi comparison, who did it first with San Antonio and now again with the Clippers.
  13. I say he won’t be traded until there’s a clearer picture regarding his injury and I don’t think that’ll be before 7/23.
  14. “The Body” Ventura? Rainman?
  15. I agree with you. While many trade scenarios include the Sabres getting another 1st round pick in the upcoming draft, I can’t see a team wanting to trade for Jack with his health future unknown. If a team was willing to trade for him now, the Sabres wouldn’t be getting much in return anyways.
  16. Murray was embarrassing at the draft and came across as a moron. While every other GM was saying things like “The Blankety Blanks would like to thank the ‘host city’ for their hospitality. With the nth pick in the 20xx NHL Draft, the Blankety Blanks are proud to select ‘player’ from the Bippity Bops of the So-and-so Hockey League”, Murray just says “Jack Eichel”.
  17. But, of course, they’ll lower them when all is back to normal
  18. So, is he good on the “power play”?
  19. Yeah, I like the idea of holding onto Reinhardt until the trade deadline. Then he/the team/we can first see how the returns on the Eichel deal fit and go from there. If by some miracle that the team is in playoff contention at the deadline, then try and talk him into resigning. If he refuses, get what you can to help the playoff push and/or the future.
  20. Is he related to Maynard G?
  21. That is one of the many animals that when I consider their creation I say “What were they thinking?”
  22. And another mistake there was letting Hasek dictate the other half of the trade. If he really wanted out, he would’ve folded on his demands.
  23. What was the ballpark recovery time for this surgery Jack wants?
