  1. They arent good enough to go 60, they just arent. They have no consistency because they arent good enough across the board. You can't make up for lack of talent by hustle when the gap is so big.
  2. are all NA players goons.... I seem to only notice NA players getting into fights....
  3. I 100% agree with this post and your previous one. If not for the lockout and lack of center depth there's no way he would've stayed. He's not at the level of the other 18 yr olds, which means nothing now for his long term development, just for this year. A little stronger faster and smarter and we havea great player. Kid has vision and hands, hard to teach that.
  4. it sounds like theres a leadership vacuum in the room. Leino was hinting at it this morning, they arent making themselves better, pushing each other etc. Its the same shhhty core that has been around for years. Miller sounds like he cares but doesnt seem like a room guy, too weird and he's a goalie. No one else is stepping up. I kind of like that Rolston is saying hey guys, time to put on your big boy pants and figure it out bc im not your savior
  5. That stuff is all true, but I also go by the eyeball test too, and he is playing far better than Grigo, he's def a more dynamic player. You notice him out there. Grigo is behind, for now.. he's still young and not everyone progresses at same rate of course. He really needs to work on his burst and skating. Right. He's not earning it, but I think the kid is learning real quick about life in the NHL. Produce or go home....it might just take 15 years.
  6. Or that good. Chances are for second place. There's no points for second place. I had a chance with a supermodel once, but .....
  7. is it me but I seemed to notice the Sabres were playing a little less aggressive last game. Not a major adjustment but D pinching less and keeping two forwards high in the O zone more often. Anyone else notice this? I guess we will see if this continues tonight on the Island.
  8. To this I agree. How much more I'm not sure. I just don't see this team as a sleeping giant waiting to be awakened by the professorial Rolston a la Pitt, LA, or NJD.
  9. That's old school hockey to be sure, but you can't bench every player who isnt hustling, there's a fine balance of course.
  10. He means they are floating around in the zone, not being active and hustling to a spot on the ice. Anyone who has played ironman hockey knwos exactly what I mean, maybe theres a better way to explain it?? I think Rolston is calling out the leadership group.... The coach is only part of the solution, players stepping it up is the other half and he isnt going to let that slide. I've always said it's hard for us fans to know who are the true leaders in the room. Maybe we will find out, maybe someone new steps up.
  11. The examples I've heard on the radio station that shall not be named had rosters with much more high end talent.
  12. I dont think so based on the comparisons I've seen thrown around.
  13. Yup. The love child of Scotty Bowman and Al Arbour couldnt coach this team to a Cup
  14. That general of an outline describes 90% of the teams in the league.
  15. There is no secondary scoring on this team, we have a bunch of grinders who make a lot of noise but not much else. Look at the top teams, see how the dropoff from the top line isnt as dramatic as it is on this team.
  16. He should have made those moves before now. I think many of us thought the trade for Ott was just the first step, surely they would have to replace Roy's scoring with someone? No, instead we have a bunch of grinders but we dont have the high end talent to compete every night. Regardless of who is coaching we need more thoroughbreds and not so many mules.
  17. the system doesnt keep stafford from burying his chances, the system doesnt make guys give the puck away. The system may suck, but so do some of these players.
  18. It's really hard to know what kind of room guy he is, but he doesnt strike me as a leader.....at all. I'm not arguing against a coaching change but this roster can't be coached to a high level. People keep bringing up LA and Pitt but those rosters were a hell of a lot better than this one.
  19. The problem is the team does not have enough offensive talent to score consistently. No team is successful in the current league with a roster of Folignos
  20. He is currently centering one of the best lines in hockey. He's not a sure fire #1 but is also a far cry from 2 "at best" How many on here can name the LA Kings "true #1 center" without google? You don't need wayne gretzky at center to win.
