  1. Agreed, my firtst reaction too to the above statement
  2. yeh he has some serious making up to do, especially with all the talent of first 45 guys
  3. timing is bad unecessary till after draft imo where are the pitchforks
  4. Ward would be an awesome addition for Sabres imo if DC doesn't resign
  5. Aweful dream:( Just got done with a Michael Connolly which written with similar scenario but with no hockey. Hoss, what interests me most about your chart is the success of undrafted players vs those chosen in later rounds, I guess that is the difference between guessing at a potential late bloomer and signing one that has shown some proof?
  6. That depends more one how much all of this team plays with sandpaper, but I agree it is not a deterent for dirty players who go after other guys, but will be for those guys who might act out of their own norm once in a while, ie the "casual criminal" where an opportunity presents itself, they might think twice when confronted with a pitbull. To another pitbull it wont matter though.
  7. God I hate that hire Terry stunk as Caps coach, dont like it all. Darn always get Bryan and Tery confused, yeh dont like Bryan, Terry ok
  8. Great sarcasm by Eichel of CHerry's support for USA hockey, suprised Cherry didnt burst into flames when he touched that shirt...
  9. Agreed, awesome info and insight. Since I haven't had time to digest the stuff I have read about these guys, nor have I watched them much..., This write-up was great and a good primer for the draft. Wonder if you see any late round gems out there, guys who might be late bloomers or highschoolers who need more coaching?
  10. Moriarty you and the negative waves. Patty boy is very good on PK, under rated shot, knows how to forecheck a la Larson and still has speed. His negs are hopefully down to a dull roar for his sake too and yes being a Buffalo boy helps... Still, I am on the fence with him, I guess 1 more year and see if he lasts.
  11. In this case for the leak without at least giving Eichel a heads up. Seriously though having worked in the fish bowl in DC, I know how things can be blown out of proportion fast. Like I said this is big boy arena now and whether you think Murray's misteps are no big deal, they haven't really hurt him.. Yet, he still needs to clean it up if he want to be successful longterm. Difference between being a big fish in a little pond or a big fish amoung many big fish, all who will eat each other.
  12. Agreed it is nothing, but Murray needs to grow some more, playing with big boys now where anything he does out of step is going to be pointed out... Kinda like going from governor to a position in DC. Its a whole nother animal and he needs to lessen these misteps so it doesn't cost him. Plenty of competitors will try and trip him up and the press does just to see if they can... This one, though not a biggee shows me Murray is still not a "full professional."
  13. or he actually is intelligent and trying to see where the rest of field is and what might be available in a different scenario..
  14. Finally listened to how he said what he said, seemed more of an irritant, and he was brushing it off as press taking it the wrong way... NY Post reporting style...
  15. No just worried how much this mght affect Eichel, and is there any chance in hell the sabres trade the #2 pick? TY needed that!
  16. Saw a couple postings from other fans making a big deal over Eichel's statement upset about leak about what he said that he was best player in draft. Does this hurt chances of signing him and him playing next year with Sabres? People are speculatingly Sabres may move 2 nd pick if this is a problem... I am sure this is just baiting, even so Murray needs to get his ship battened down... Its not amateur hour anymore. If he screws this draft up, I will be beyond pissed.
  17. There are few D I think could help, but aside from Saad on oofense, Joel Ward really intrigues me. He was a beast for the Caps and showed some nice hands. Most consistent Cap during series with Rangers imo.
  18. 1. Something postive for Buffalo... You sure?2. When pissed at him.... Fing Blysma 3. 10 ??? Who knows... Or better question, who gets fired first TM or big B 4. 10%, the power of 10? 5. Snowbanks wind and a 10 mile wide snow squall.
  19. Nice been working all day and nite, but just got a chance to read this thread. Ego wise I think Dan may be a better fit with TM then Babs and that may go a long way with a developing team.
  20. another broken clock, squirrel and nut kinda thing.
  21. Julien would be my choice too given the direction of Sabres build, but Blysma might field a better skating styled team. Claude, the name though says it all, not a great p.r. move, but if the Sabres win the cup... I'll bandwagon him.
  22. NS, I agree with your misgivings about management mostly because I am impatient due in part having endured DR and I believe his inability to fing offense especially at the center position. Which disappointedly made the tank a neccessity. Murray imo is learning on the job and like this team will continue to have growing pains to my chagrin. He and the young players on this though talented team will still stub their toes occasionally and unlike some of the sky is always blue on this board, I will continue to critique this missteps. Its the 'merican way. I admire both your steadfast loyalty to the Sabres and understanding of the game. Patience is not one my strong suits. I was brought up to ID a problem and figure out a sucessful way to fix it now, not tommorrow. So to all those who like you who understand the game and cheer but can see how they can improve and have an opinion about it cheers, ????
