Envious, new season doesn't really get going till next week... hoping for an outdoor game.

Turned the puck over too much and was generally weak along the boards. Only saw him carry the puck up a few times and yes he has nice hands, but olayed it a few times especially trying to forecheck, needs to be stronger to force turnover and have seen him do it. Just didn't look himself... possible flu bug as evidenced by his hair looking worse then normal and that acne looking positively toxic. Anyone have some clorox wipes.

An some are just watching from afar... me Im building my own hill... That being said... F-Troupe is showing their worth as Fedun is such a good skater and passer. He is one of the few D that can quickly skate the puck out of his own zone or pass... despite the hiccups.

Sam isnt going anywhere, Eichel sure was an unmotivated non factor. I like Carrier, brings speed heat and hustle, forces turnovers. Agree, fourth line lacking, Moulson is too slow. D-lo thought had a good game. Sabres avoided a lot of physical not sure why except maybe banged up after last one.

Wow fell asleep when it was 14-0 Alabama darn thought it was a goner.

I know this doesn't belong in this thread, but PU has dropped over 50 points already 25 goals and 31 assists (56 points) in 35 games. 1.6 points per game in the OHL... not bad...

Oh agreed, but forget sometimes that there are other guys out there other than the Rochester kids. Nice to see the college boys stepping up... Florentino intrigues me. Looks like he can score and pass... Does he have some nasty? Also, Murray has some nice size and can skate... no idea about his hands... but interesting to see if he develops and I just like Giorgio Estephan, kid seems to be able to rack up points... 19 goals and 21 assists 40 points in 34 games for Medicine Hat.

I was thinking about the 2017 draft and the need for defensemen in the pipeline and it begged the question how are the Sabre defensemen and later round draft pics from 2016 doing. Yeh, we stay in touch with Nylander, Asplund and Pu... and even Fitzgerald. But what about Murray, Nyberg, Budick, Hagel, Osmanski and Glotov. Well it turns out that Murray a big winger is joining Penn State midseason, and Nyberg a defenseman from Sweden and University of WI committment unable to pass English competence is joining UCONN midseason. As well Budik, a defensement from the Czeck Republic played in the WJC. Missed the game, but saw replay and hit by McCabe reminded me of Stevens... Kid is developing a nice nasty streak. Lost that when Zadarov and McNabb were traded away. Wish those two were here and not Bogo, Gorges or Franson... i know they were not part of trade... for each other... still miss them.

Aside from the Reffing being bad, the thing I think makes these games, like college basketball, so watchable is both the enthusiasm... not fake crab you see in the pros, but real raw emotion... and the energy level even when mistakes are made. The skaters go back and forth... there is no effective neutral zone trap... no stacking the line or double covering the other teams best receivers. In this one both goalies stood on their heads despite the number of goals given up. Which is why I love watching college hockey... Pro hockey imo, especially in the last month and during the playoffs is the closest in the professional ranks and soccer during the world cup where you see this combination of raw skill, enthusiasm and unfettered emotion. I love watching games whatever they are played with this kind of atmosphere generated from the players. High school basketball and hockey while not as as skilled if both teams have talent produce these kind of games.... Neat stuff.

True and yet if Sabres finish top 2 this year and maybe next year does this in fact make them a better team in the long run
