Ted Darling 1969 - Hockey Night in Canada
North Buffalo replied to \GoBillsInDallas/'s topic in The Aud Club
I started in 1970 at age six with my radio alarm clock under my pillow so my parents wouldnt catch me. PS met Bobby’s father when I was a kid up in Parry Sound... big wide shouldered man with meathooks for hands. My folks owned a cabin just north of there where we kids spent our summers fishing, camping and exploring the islands of the Georgian Bay.,, Now there is a Hockey Hall of fame dedicated to Bobby at the tip of the harbor... really cool... suggest if you get a chance visit it and take a 30,000 island day cruise.. -

Berglund, Sobotka, & a Season Preview

Great Post Randall, and I am not going to try your dissertation style... for the D. And I love your analysis of Risto and agree. Dahlin probably gets Scandella to shelter him. The question for me is who best fits Risto. McCabe could skate with Risto and might work to start and allow him to do what he does, but I am not sure JMacC is good enough defensively to help Risto. The other option is pair him with a skater such as Pilut to push the pace. Pair them in an offensive zone push. I dont trust Bogo to stay healthy, but he would be an obvious choice to pair with Risto. I would love the option of choosing between a McCabe and Pilut or Bogo and Pilut on the third pairing but crap I keep forgetting about Ghule. If Ghule can develope physically enough along with Pilut to be able to dump one of Bogo and McCabe then I think you really have some speed on the back end. Imagine the six D having Dhalin, Scandella, Risto, Ghule, Pilut and Bogo or McCabe and Nelson being the eighth guy. On offense, I like the idea of Jack with Erod and Sheary... line 2 of Mitts, Sam and Skinner and then a third line of Berglund and Big Z with either Vodka or Wilson. 4th line grinders not sure of and some of depends on what KO shows??? Can he rebound then put him with Berglund and drop Wilson to the fourth line. I love Larry in the pest role but he has lost his moxy since the previous year’s injury but maybe on a fourth line with Sobodka. That leaves out Thompson, Bailey and Baptiste and if Nylander starts showing more. Finally some competition for spots and I am hoping the young guys can push the older one’s to step up or retire. -
Do they come with a propeller? No thanks...

I can imagine that but what on earth possessed you to go that route? -
You are an evil man...?

What is the P value and std deviation on that? LGR4GM???

A number of websites including the Hurricane's said they were shopping Skinner around July 1st but Skinner turned down a couple of offers, supposedly a western conference team was one, possibly the Kings. Hurricane's circled back and Buffalo was on Skinner's list of ok, so they made the trade.
-
What I like about him is that he goes to the greasy areas. Lots of jam plays and finding rebounds. He also has a set of hands to... and man he has speed and good balance on his skates. We will see about how he does getting back on D. But he gives Sabres a legit break out option. One we hopped Baptiste or Bailey would turn into. Hoping Baptiste can learn from him... Between Skinner and Sheary, finally some real speed with hands and noses for the net on the wings. If KO can rejuvenate, Sabres may actually score some goals this year and will definitely open up space for Jack, Sam and Mitts.
-
And Sabres got Sheary as well, plus still 3 number 1s, now trade ZB for a young D..
-
Sabres would have drafted a top flight winger and had to trade ROR for a top D and picks... would have been different and set time table back a bit... interesting question though.

Rumor Blues Parayko for Nylander... not sure validity but interesting trade stuff heating up now, especially with Skinner trade: https://t.co/ZKr7gUzqAo?amp=1

Had a couple down years a couple years ago but mostly in the 50-60 pt range: http://www.hockeydb.com/ihdb/stats/pdisplay.php?pid=116085

Pu will fit right in, number 1 pork producing state in the nation, also biggest pig shiite problem too.
-
So JBots has to be thinking young wingers not ready and KO no longer capable so interesting move..
-
Woah! No more Pu??? Crap!

Yep that is fine as last long it doesnt go past 10p, gotta leave for work. Earlier say 8p would be better for me. Unless you can wait an hour till my next pick while I get to work?
-
Why not Berglund at center third line?
-
May not be the worst in the world... put ERod with Jack, move Baptiste in with Berglund and Vodka and Wilson with Girgenson with Wilson and Bailey and if Tage, Nylander or Ollofson impress put one of them with Berglund and sit Vodka or anyone else not performing.
