I tend to agree unless Sabres can find a deal on a relatively young forward with years left. May not be available at deadline... more likely around draft time.., Build is slow and steady. Sabres need too many pieces especially at forward. Keep D depth, they are bargaining chips... PS The Mitts ERod Sheary line looked dangerous again. Though I think they need a tougher guy up front, a Berglund with wheels probably what they hoped for Berglund.

My brother and I drove back from DC in the early 90s to Buffalo hit a white out band on 63 somewhere west of Geneseo. He was counting the snow plow stakes on side of the road with window down at 5-10 miles an hour. Couple of trucks stopped going up a hill. Two lane road and at this point snow let up looked for head lights... turns 5 trucks and eight cars stopped. Luckily no cars coming opposite direction. Not smartest decision to pass... only a 5 mile band but will never forget it.

I look at Housley not playing Pilut against a heavy physical forecheck team as reasonable. Using Hunwick over Baloo who knows...

It was rumored all season... sometimes relations despite efforts dont work out seen it happen too often in work situations. Once positions get hardened, much of which could have occurred before JBotts... not much you can do and OReilly’s post season press statement told me as much. But go on being in denial.

I think OReilly despite unquestioned talent was a drag on Jack, whoever was at fault and had to be moved and everyone knew it. Hated to trade OReilly but believe Sabres and most believe that relationship was not reparable. Would Sabres been better off without trading him if the relationship was better... sure. But egos got in the way and JBotts imo did the best he could with a bad situation. Only thing I can fault him on was doing his due dilligence on Berglunds mentality.
