I cringe every time Stewart has the puck in the offensive zone. He never makes the smart pass and misses chances. He has low offensive awareness - it is so brutal.

I have found that legislators (Congressmen & Senators) tend (not always) to make terrible Presidents, whereas, state Governors tend to do better. This is a generality but I think history shows it to be a fair statement. There is just a different mindset between the Executive branch and the Legislative branch.

I wanted Bennett more only because of size and speed. I'm concerned with Reinhart's skating speed. One thing that I always enjoyed about the Sabres of '05 and '06 was team speed.

To add to this - the makeup of this team's offensive lines are not that different from late last year and yet, it is having more trouble this year getting shots on net and pucks in the net. I would say the offensive guys have taken a step backwards. System? Preparation? Either way it is on the coach and his assistants.

I didn't read through the whole thread so if I'm just regurgitating items already written I apologize. Positives: - Unlike games last year, I feel we didn't get man handled in this game and that is a big positive to me - Thomas Vanek Negatives: - We were out hustled. Carolina had much more jump than we did. - No offensive cohesion. We have a tendency to not "set up" in the offensive zone. We either streak on a wing and float a give away pass or streak on a wing and shoot towards the goal only to hit the opposing player's skate that is right in front of our stick or miss the net completely, both of which results in puck possession loss. - Giveaways. If the pass isn't there don't make it. Be a little patient for the play to develop. Concerning Grigo, he has the skill set. I truly believe he is scared to make a mistake and therefore is not allowing his instincts to show. He is very hesitant out there. Is it a result of the pressure he puts on himself or the pressure he feels from Lindy? The Sabres better come out with some hustle tonight!

I predict that the Sabres will finish 4th or 5th seed and will get knocked out of the playoffs in the second round but going to 7 games.

Agreed. I get sick of hearing that too. The worst flu season on record would have to be 1919 - it even caused the cancellation of the Stanley Cup Finals.

The only issue I have is that if all there is available is 3rd or 4th line talent then maybe we should get a mean enforcer to protect our fragile team. Never mind, as I was typing this I realized that any enforcers we sign will lose their mean streak under the current system.

Good question. I happen to prefer the New King James version. However, I will say that one can only get the pure context of the meaning through study or by learning Ancient Greek. Determine which made the most sense to you and go with it.

Yes it is a boring read, but I will push through it. I did that with Walden as well. When I read Walden, I felt as though Thoreau was somewhat pompus and full of himself.

I have two versions that I read between. The New King James (NKJV) and the English Standard Version (ESV). The difference between versions is basic language translation differences (in Greek, there are three different words for love and in English there is one - so how do you translate the meaning with the word?). That is the main reason there are so many versions.

I've only ever brewed a Porter, a Canadian Ale, and a pretty good Bass Ale clone (3x). I haven't used my brewing equipment in about 1 1/2 years and I have some nice equipment too. If you do drink the GL Christmas Ale tonight let me know if you like it.

This is by far the best seasonal beer in my opinion as I'm not crazy about many of them.

I don't know... it could have been Jeremy Jacobs (who owns the Bruins). I know that he had was part of a group that put a bid on the Browns franchise (when they were getting their franchise back) to get his name familiar in NFL circles. The bid was not substantial enough to get the franchise but good enough to get attention.
