I’ve watched him fairly extensively with the Amerks and obviously been watching him in Buffalo. I have to say, I don’t think he plays like a center. Certainly not in the traditional sense. He’s a shoot first player, his shot is his main asset and he just seems to move more like a winger. Straight line speed, built compact and powerful, not long and lanky for playmaking. Maybe it’s just me…

Amerks are having a great season. I just can’t get excited about prospects in the AHL anymore. Quinn & Peterka kinda ruined it for me. They put up unprecedented numbers at the AHL level and what do the Sabres have to show for it. Hope? It’s seriously depressing. You watch kids come through and meet every expectation and then some. JJ has certainly shown promise and is a bright spot on the current Sabres roster but Quinn’s struggle are disheartening. He was a sure fire difference maker in waiting. Through injury and poor development, he’s barely an NHL player that everyone is ready to give away.
