  1. I've shipped from both Anchor Bar and Duffs to my father for Christmas. Expensive but he loves it because he now lives in the south and never gets back to Buffalo.
  2. Think Connoly from Tampa could be available? How about Saad from Chicago? Two teams with lots of talent and cap issues.
  3. There is no reason to believe he won't be there with you. Not to get into a theological discussion but if you believe in that then he is probably still sharing your excitement.
  4. How about a three team trade? Buffalo gets: Philly #1 pick in 2015 Pays 1/2 of Vinny Lacavier salary Nashville gets: Vinny lacavier at half salary from Philly Philly gets: 2015 2 rd pick from Nashville 2015 2 rd pick from Buffalo (NY Islanders)
  5. I get the appeal because of the potential but the maturity issues are just too much to excuse. The price that will need to be paid for this boom or bust trade is not worth it.
  6. He would need to approve it but a buyout as opposed to staying in Philly may be better option for him. He could also approve as part of a three team trade where Buffalo retains salary.
  7. I keep thinking Philly is the target for trade. Take on Vinny Lecavier for buyout or trade while keeping cash. They are deep in young forward depth and could also be a possible destination for Erhoff or Hackett.
  8. I went Miller, Miller and Briere. I just think if Miller gets them out of round one then he will have more opportunity. I only see the Blues and Canadiens advancing with the Blues going to the finals. I almost said Moulson for the second because he just got a raw deal this year. Briere for last choice because the organization took a step back that day.
  9. I always thought the Crosby draft was rigged. The two stories that day were who would get Crosby and what were the Penguins going to do about funding for their new arena. Super Mario was about to retire and the future of the Pittsburgh franchise was in question. Surprise Penguins get Crosby.
  10. Since I'm not able to follow these prospects or project what they can become I'm curious if anyone would trade the #1 overall for Eric Stall. Rumor is he is available. I'm sure it would need to be a package of some sort but do these guys at the top of the draft project to be better than Stall?
  11. I still think maybe the Philly or Washington for Halak. I think Washington would do Neuvirth + mid round pick. At least we would have a goalie signed for next year.
  12. The two things I read yesterday was that he said things would likely not happen today unless he received a significant offer and most gm's don't want to trade for a guy and then pay his salary during the break.
  13. If we could trade the #1 overall for a Ryan O'Reilly or Evander Kane would you? I ask because you hear that this draft class isn't that good and those are two very good NHL players. Also, I don't get to see a lot of junior hockey so I really have no opinion on the prospects other than what I read. Thanks.
  14. I think we will most likely get the Islanders pick in 2015. They are bad enough to get a top ten pick this year and in sports you have to do what will help you win today. Garth Snow can't plan on being around in 2015. A good 2014 draft though and he can strengthen his argument to stay on as GM.
  15. I see this move as the same type of move as Joe Sacic with the Avalanche. A hockey person bringing in hockey people. Also a great PR move.
  16. I think this us a great trade for the Sabres. We got the same picks as the Pominville trade but instead of two prospects we got an accomplished NHL 30 goal scorer. If the Sabres feel they cannot resign Moulson they can probably trade him at the deadline for prospects or picks. I think this trade sends several messages too. To the players, increase the effort you can be replaced and to the rest of the league, we are ready to deal.
  17. Good read and very frustrating that teams are winning a cup based on statistical analysis created by a Sabres coach.
  18. If the Sabres were to trade Miller to the Flyers it would probably include Mezarros. $4Million cap hit and is currently injured but expected back soon. Also, I don't think Courtier would be included and Schenn can play wing. Laughten was their #1 pick last year and is projected as 1st or 2nd line center. I wouldn't mind The McGinn in there either. He is projected as a 2nd line power forward.
  19. Yes. Every year there are a few guys who will sign a one year deal. I'm not saying to build a roster with them but if there is a spot or two that we need to fill because our young guys aren't quite ready and there is a player or two out there that don't feel they are getting market value then it can be a win win.
  20. It's not I'll will. It's someone getting paid what they feel they should get paid then having the opportunity to prove it and help set his market for the next year when you would expect teams to have more cap room. Also, if the Sabres are not in playoff contention then they will go to a contender and have a chance to compete for a cup. Just grabbing a name and dollar lets's say Weiss says he should get $4million but the market says $3.5 million. Sign a one year in Buffalo for $4 million, prove your value and hit free agency again next year. Guys gamble on themselves on one year deals all the time.
  21. I disagree. I hope they overpay for a couple guys on one year contracts who are trying to prove their value for their next contract. If we are not in the playoff race then we can sell them off for picks/prospects. We have plenty of cap space so if it a one year deal then it won't affect the future cap.
  22. He may not want to go anywhere. I read that he was in a bitter custody battle and that was the reason he would not want to waive his No Movement Clause.
  23. The rumor was Vanek to Philly so here are two different ideas: 1) Vanek for Courtier, McGinn, 2nd this year and a 2nd next year 2)Vanek for Simmonds, and a 2nd Philly's 1st is too high for them to want to trade it. I think the Sabres will have a hard time trading Miller. Other goalies available will be Luongo, Bernier and probably someone from St.Louis. I'm sure there is a deal but not the big splash you might expect.
