  1. So Gorsuch goes on Fox news and warns us to “be careful.” Or what, Neil? Pardon me if I find your statements about the importance of an “independent court” beyond hypocritical. You, Alito, Thomas (and I suspect Kavanaugh until he tells us who paid off his huge student loans) are bought and paid for by the billionaires who’ve lavished you with gifts and whose interests have been involved in cases heard before this court. This SCOTUS is as corrupt AF so it’s no wonder its recent ruling says that if an elected official accepts a gift before the act, it’s a bribe but if accepted after the act it’s a gratuity. A gratuity! LMFAO! History will not be kind to these clowns.
  2. According to the DNC chair, Harris has already secured enough votes from delegates in their online voting process which ends on Monday.
  3. It’s also a Sanskrit meaning lotus, signifying purity, rebirth, and strength.
  4. Yeah, with mononucleosis. Hardly counts as an injury as much as it does just plain bad luck.
  5. I can appreciate this line of thinking, but I think the far right extremists in both houses would never be convinced when their goal is to break the government.
  6. I wish I felt as confident that our country will be so much better off when he’s gone, but Trump is just a symptom. The fascists behind him aren’t going anywhere soon and we will need to pass new laws to build better constitutional protections against them. And even then, we are stuck with a corrupt SCOTUS who care little about the Constitution and precedent.
  7. It will look like this:
  8. Not fixated in the least and certainly not on why you are anyone else didn’t have him as your 1st choice. There are a myriad of reasons someone might nit and that’s totally understandable and just fine by me. I’m merely relaying what I was told not long after that draft by two GMs I’ve known since they were kids running around the building as well as a couple of scouts. That made it easy to ignore the artificial narrative about “<60% completion rate” and “mechanical issues”, both of which were not of much concern. Allen almost came out after his 2016 season and he would have been a high draft pick in the 2017 draft as well. As raw as he may have been, his talent was readily apparent and it just couldn’t be ignored. Talent evaluators understood that very early on. Anyway, it’s water long under the bridge and we’re all happy about Josh now.
  9. To me, “incredibly raw” means having little understanding/aptitude of/for the position as well as the relative inexperience in playing it. As I alluded to previously, Allen’s understanding and mental grasp of the job greatly impressed people. His mechanical issues weren’t a great concern, but his dedication to improving them nonetheless is impressive as he continues to work on them in the offseason, especially his work with Biometric to digitally map and improve the efficiency of his throwing motion. Since Mayfield was long gone by the time our pick came around, did you prefer drafting another position with the 7th pick?
  10. We were at 12 to start the day after originally trading up to 12 from 21 with the Bengals. We got to 7 after trading with Tampa. Beane wove some magic in that draft.
  11. The plan was to let him carry a clipboard for a year while gaining insight from Daboll and the rest of the new offensive coaches on the staff. But as Beane said, AJ McCarron wasn’t who they thought he was, Peterman was a train wreck, and they had little other choice than to let him learn under fire. May have been the best thing to happen to him. And while he was inexperienced, his football aptitude tested off the charts (Daboll said he never saw a prospect like him when it came to his interviews, ability to diagnose plays, and recall) so I’m not sure he was “incredibly raw” so much as not having as much experience at the position as other first round QB prospects. Who did you prefer with that 7th overall pick instead?
  12. There was never a question in the scouting community. He was projected to be a high first round pick after his 2016 college season, with some scouts thinking he might have been the first QB taken in the 2017 draft had he elected to come out then. It was the talking heads who created an artificial narrative about “accuracy” after his last year in school that gave rise to “questions” but, again, GMs, scouts, coaches etc. never had them. Their main concern was his sheer inexperience at the position.
  13. Sounds like they might be installing cheaper, lower quality brakes and/or pads.
  14. I’m free climbing that hill as well. Quinn will be a star in this league.
  15. More than a few constitutional hoops to jump thru, but he certainly has the corrupt, radical SCOTUS to help pave the way. Welcome to 1930s Europe.
  16. Regarding Benson, it isn’t just his hockey IQ that allows him to compete with bigger players, it’s his actual short stature that works to his advantage. He won numerous puck battles along the boards because he knows how to leverage his size against bigger opponents. Sure, he gets knocked on his butt a few times here and there, but he wins puck battles far more often than not.
  17. RJ has nothing to do with it. His biggest flaw is that he simply cannot keep up with the play. That’s not so bad for the tv audience, but it’s beyond a disservice to the radio listeners.
  18. Please don’t misconstrue what my point is in that post. It was meant as an absurd scenario to point out the utter madness in the SCOTUS ruling regarding immunity. Nothing more and certainly not a call for a ridiculous assassination attempt. Believe what you want, but this court is like European courts in the 1930s that paved the way for fascist regimes to assume power and fundamentally change their democracies. That is the stated goal of Trump, the Heritage Foundation, certain members of Congress, and other right wing extremists. It is dangerous and needs to be stopped. So yeah; wow. Just, wow.
  19. Again, I agree entirely. There are and will be alliances between/among those countries. Every country in the region, NATO member or not, has the right and authority to defend itself and/or declare war against a perceived aggressor. For example, Poland doesn’t need NATO approval to send troops into Ukraine if that ends up happening. But I suspect NATO would invoke Article 5 for the second time in history if it comes to that.
  20. Agree entirely. The region remembers its history.
  21. I’d love to see him with Cozens and Quinn.
  22. Benson is made for how Lindy prefers to play.
  23. I can remember when Reagan’s woeful performance in the first 1984 debate had republicans wringing their hands and questioning his fitness for a second term. I remember because I was one of them. And we all know how that turned out. Point is, Biden’s poor performance is not unprecedented and having a bad night is not uncommon. Also, the format agreed to by the Dems backfired spectacularly with the turning off of Trump’s mic. While the television audience couldn’t hear, Trump continued to shout and harangue while Biden spoke. We should have been allowed to hear his crap which would have served, again, to expose his complete unfitness for the office.
