  1. I think some fans would and when you’ve lost the numbers that they have lost, some fans might be too many. The Bills lost 700 season ticket holders over a vaccination policy. I know four people who dropped out of Sabres season tickets over it. The passion some people feel about singing the National Anthem at sporting events, no matter how misguided, is real to those people.
  2. While I agree with this, the Sabres are in no position to alienate any more segments of their fan base.
  3. Evolving hockey should have read some of the better prognosticators.
  4. This is exactly what was expected by prognosticators in the know. The Sabres would have went longer term but not over $8M and Rasmus wasn’t going to accept that. Some people act like it’s strictly a team decision. Smart players who believe in themselves realize it’s foolish to sign long term unless you get a huge overpayment. For the millionth time, the cap is going to skyrocket after a couple years of correction and there are going to be a lot of unhappy, underpaid players.
  5. It would appear only Wyld and Taro are interested this year. I will give it till end of day today other I will pm those two and assume no one else interested
  6. Yep. We will see how it goes
  7. If anyone is interested in doing this again, I will need to know soon and have the money by October 2nd. No pressure, I understand the team is not exactly worth the effort.
  8. Oh please, this league has done nothing to diffuse the situation in Chicago, allowed Montreal to draft a scumbag and they are worried about bad press over Jack Eichel?
  9. Southern Tier was doing some orientation today. Should be open soon.
  10. I’m not sure what is lately but you seem to reply to what you think I said rather then what I said. MLB and WR1 will be locked up before cap explosion. I also said that value contracts are always helpful. The main point, however, is that their window will be extended and good rookie deals will be less important during the adjustment period. Tampa has already proven you can not only win the Super Bowl but also retain your entire starting roster without a QB on a rookie deal by pushing money two and three years down the road when the true cap increases exponentially.
  11. My point is that the Bills will have most of the important positions locked up at below market contracts. CB1, QB1, MLB, WR1 could all be under long term contracts before the cap skyrockets. Value contracts are always helpful but there will be a 3 to 4 year period of adjustment and smart contenders will take advantage to extend their window.
  12. The cap is going to explode and getting their stars signed long term before will allow the present contenders to extend their window. Rookie contracts, while always beneficial, will not have the same importance as they have had in the past.
  13. Its not really the point, but ok, on that we agree.
  14. Exactly, just like when the Eagles lost Carson Wentz to injury and had to go with Nick Foles and…..oh wait, not a good example.
  15. In a way, I envy you and those so emotionally wrapped up in things like this. I don’t understand it, but at times I wish I did. Enjoy your weekend.
  16. How do you know how deliberate he was about anything? What if he was referring to Red Sox plummeting and losing to the Yankees.
  17. That sounds kinda familiar
  18. I’m assuming you are talking about the NYR, LV connection. I’m not sure there is anything to it but things have really tightened up with the KA regime. If I had to guess, I’m guessing Buffalo is hoping a straight deal with LV but is prepared to settle for a three way with the NYR. Just to be clear, this is all just speculation on my part given where things stood before the draft. If nothing else, Wookie and Dudacek can work on a scenario that has Z ending up in LV and Jack going to NYR. Have at it boys.
  19. No, I understand that but was just making the point in defense of the Pegula’s. They have been at the forefront of sports medicine and different approaches and while some have proven ineffective, it’s hardly like they were going a cheap route.
  20. So the Bills approach is considered “cutting edge” but the Sabres are viewed as using “med school dropouts?” More likely, just another case of old school hockey players resisting change.
  21. Disagree. The bargains will be the fools like RNH who sighed a ridiculous 8 year deal that will be third line money in four years.
  22. $97.50 and you all have to pick a game
  23. It’s that time. I know the mood isn’t great but o have up to ten tickets available and only one(Taro) spoken for,
  24. I’m sorry, you are again showing your youth. I have learned through the years that everyone is motivated by different things and to make such a blanket statement reveals a youthful bias.
  25. I’m not sure why people are surprised that some of the framework is done and it’s just up to other team to agree to the other parts. KA admitted he talked to Eichel’s agent twice the day of draft. They weren’t discussing the weather. His agents have said they thought a deal would be done. They weren’t just hoping.
