More of a hunch colored with the fact I believe a deal was always going to get done by mid-August after pre-draft trade fell through.

KA is doing it right. He set his price and he’s sticking to it. It’s not about the money as some keep saying. They will need to spend $8-10M just to get to floor so it’s going to get spent but they want to spend it on useful players.

They really thought they could play Adams and bully him into a quick trade. Still think this gets done sooner rather then later but they are making things worse. As for aforementioned retention of salary, they want optimum flexibility when they needed and committing to a $2M payout fir the next five years isn’t part of the plan.

My belief is deal is done. The only thing holding up announcement being held up is Ulmark making sure no last minute team coming in with above market offer. Seems like four teams have already found their guy so his options are limited.

I believe it’s three years for around $5M. Players who believe in themselves want to keep deals at 3 years because cap is expected to sky rocket in three years. All these young guys signing 8 year deals are going to regret it.

I love the fine print side effects but you need an 800 number to call and a little blurb how if you can’t afford it you may qualify for free dosage.

A) it is the deadline price with no worries about injury or paying $3M for a half a year B) Jack is better and signed for multiple years at a price that will be a bargain in two years. Not even close to the same thing.

Do people really believe he was offered top ten pick and prospect last night and he said, nah, I’m good with a low pick next year, a third liner and a long shot goalie? The market is what it is for RFA forwards. Look what the Rangers got. Look what everyone paid at the deadline(except for ridiculous Foligno deal). He made it clear he wasn’t staying. They want to rid the team of guys like that. They took the best they were offered.

The couple signings of Florida goalie and Carolina goalie( sorry not sure of either spelling ) lowered Linus’ expectations. Deal should be done today.

I believe they think they can win this year and end up with a talent pool of Peterka Quinn Beniers Ekkund LA prospect and be set up nicely when cap explodes in two or three years
