Sabres "Fantasy Gambling" Contest
tom webster replied to Ghost of Dwight Drane's topic in The Aud Club
I'll put $200 on Buffalo -
News says roster at 41(25/13/3) which means at least 18 more. Now the News says 42! I have never understood why they can't list the roster so it's clear who is still being counted
-
There was no reason for him to fight Prust in a preseason game. He made his point by going to the defense if McBain and he let up on Galencyuk after making said point. I personally think Kaleta may surprise people this year.
-
Cap issues, most of which can be cleared up when they put Pronger on long term IR
-
See, in the end we agree on all but the last point. If Stevie makes that catch or somebody steps up and stops their slot guys, no one is talking about time management, which as someone else already mentioned, is butchered by every one, even the hoodie.
-
That is so wrong. He was top candidate of San Diego and Cleveland after Chip Kelly signed and at least one NFL Executive not with Buffalo thinks he will have best career of all new NFL coaches. No one knows for sure how he will turn out, but he is not here because he was the cheapest. The drop was huge. How many critical drops has he had in his career
-
I buy a lot of what you are saying, and one of my better friends will spends days arguing about the whole " pressure" thing, but when a player comes up short several times and is an integral part of team, he has to take a large part of the blame. I understand your confusion, Buffalo actually has a coach that knew he had to score there and you mistakenly think its bad clock management!
-
He choked in Tennesee and came up short most of his NFL career. The Super Bowl was a perfect storm culminating with one of weakest opponents ever.
-
I think "back" pretty clearly implies the most recent incarnation.
-
Graham pointed out that they need a guy to run scout team so the other two can concentrate on getting ready for opener
-
Exactly

The Bills could have, and actually still could although no reason to now, negotiate a 1 year deal and offered; 1) more then the $6.9 2) less then the $6.9 but with agreement not to re-tag next year 3) just agree not to re-tag to get him to come in Clearly now both sides still aren't happy but a lot can change over the next 16 weeks or so
-
Of course it's not coincidental, The Bills didn't blink and he came in at the last possible moment without jeopardizing any part of his full year's salary. It's just business.

The Sabres Hockey Hotline with... somebody or other?

That's right. Actually was a dumb question. In my defense, still on the hydrocodone. -
The Sabres Hockey Hotline with... somebody or other?

I really wanted to stay out of this conversation since its ancient news but after this post I had to go to the video. How is Brind D'Amour not called for being in crease on 4th goal ? -
For all the talk of teams in trouble and lack of support, there are only 2 or 3 teams that play to less then 95% capacity. The only team truly on trouble now that Phoenix has been sold is Florida. New Jersey is more of an ownership issue that might be solved shortly.
-
Didn't know or remember that, not sure but thanks
-
I understand this argument but I have a hard time accepting them using up 2 of his three year entry level deal all in Rochester.
-
Sabres on record as preferring Foligno on wing
-
I'm pretty certain that changes this year. Whether they can sustain and ride the momentum will be the bigger question.

The Sabres Hockey Hotline with... somebody or other?

Defining moment to me would be Patrick hitting cross bar before no goal. Most memorable would be Robert winning fog game. Under how far we have comie category, thank you Sabre chant while being eliminated by Canadians to getting booed off home ice while leading. -
Danny White has high ambitions. I can't see him wanting to share anything with anyone except on a temporary basis. Maybe the Pegulas will have to find room for a fourth rink.
-
Like everything else in life, people fall into 3 categories when it comes to debating issues. 1) black 2) white 3) shades of gray I can be disappointed with what has happened the last 15 years or so, without totally dismissing the notion that there is some reason for optimism.

Before Neal joined Pittsburgh he was a 20/25 goal scorer on par with Stafford. Dupuis is just another Warren Young type guy, a grinder who benefits immensely from his line mates. Shero's acquisitions haven't fared much better then DR's, he just had 87(sorry for the typo), Malkin and Letang to bail him out. Just to be clear, my feelings on DR have always been clear and guys like Stafford and Connolly et al have been a tremendous disappointment to me as well. But every year starts anew and while prior years results are usually indicative of future years, it is not always the case. Stafford is only 27 and most of his biggest detractors admit he has world class talent. Clearly they are not going to get anything for him at this time. So if the bet is either Stafford or a 2nd round pick, I will give Stafford another chance.
-
A) Pittsburgh is successful because they won a lottery to get 89 B) Dupuis and Stafford are about equal in their roles on the team and contract is similar C) Neal.'s contract befits a number 3 forward as it should Think you made my point
