  1. You can all go on and on about what's in the CBA what is required and what isn't what Black says or said or didn't and what Terry implied when he bought the team. While I have clearly stated my opinion on the matter I understand what the others are saying even if I question their motivation. What I think is indisputable, however, is that as party to a CBA that stipulates a split in hockey related revenue, the Sabres have a fiduciary responsibility to maximize said revenues.
  2. All good points but I can tell you Donnie Henderson loves Duke Williams.
  3. And Bucky Brooks, whom I respect immensely said scouts he trusts call him the real deal so I guess someone had him higher then you.
  4. So let me understand this. Even if he becomes a hall of famer in your eyes it would still be a bad pick and we should of let Philly take him. I understand you not liking the player and thinking they should have never picked the player but this whole trend the last few years to assign value to when a player is picked is ridiculous. It implies that there is some exact science to grading prospects and we both know there is not.
  5. And its the perfect solution. You are buying at the true market price and its up to you to decide if that price provides you with the appropriate amount of value. If the Sabres truly are selling at a price higher then the market will bear, the purchasers in the resale market will reap the benefits.
  6. I just don't get the need to put value on something that someone else is buying. There is only one number that is important. At what price do enough people purchase tickets to maximize the team's income? Anyone trying to place a value on why I and the rest of us buy tickets or what satisfaction we gain from the same is ridiculous. We all do it for a variety of reasons and those that choose not to purchase them also have their own reasons. Any other opinion on what we do with our money is condescending and insulting.
  7. I'm definitely interested. Thought my wife wouldn't be so I talked to a friend about joining me. Now my wife wants to go. Please keep me informed.
  8. I follow him as well although sometimes I'm not sure if he is Foster Brooks or Oscar Madison.
  9. I agree. If I thought they would be one hundred percent open and truthful with their answers, I would want to have some of his questions answered but its not like they are going to say we didn't want O'Connor because he sucks or he wanted nothing to do with us because we suck.....
  10. Believe the other player is Gary McAdam
  11. I know that is accepted practice to lump 1970-1996 as the same classic jersey but anyone that has done any collecting will tell you how those jerseys varied over the years. Ragtag, stitched together mismatched colors, hockey sweaters were never so religiously thought of until recently. The crest, those meant something. The sweaters themselves, not so much. Just my two cents, carry on.
  12. It has been reported that Chiarelli claimed that he offered two seconds for Neuvirth, Stewart and Flynn but acquired Connolly after he was turned down.. We don't know if it is true. If it is, and I think it might be, it is likely a case of TM thinking he could get more and over played his hand. I don't have a problem with it though because it is part of his strategy. He swings big and sometimes you are going to miss. I think you have to be like that if you want to win the Cup.
  13. Please correct me if I am wrong, but the best case scenario for Buffalo is Detroit or Ottawa, Calgary, and Minnesota advancing to the final four wihtout the Islanders being there and then the pick would move up to 18?
  14. You are right, it looks good on the resume and its definitely not a negative. However, player development is one of the hardest things to evaluate and get a handle on. It's no different then the stories of Risto and Grigs. The narrative is that Risto benefited and the Grigs suffered but who knows if the results would have been different if they were handled differently? Its not like we can prove it either way,
  15. Seems like you would be the perfect person to plan something like this. I might be interested.
  16. Except that he had already played 4 seasons so I don't think the NCAA was going to let Rodrigues stay.
  17. You said inevitable. now. The now implies a correlation. I think he may sign here but I really think it has nothing to do with Rodrigues.
  18. You mean its possible a sought after goaltender won't sign here just because someone he played with for four years has? Who knows if he will but I find it funny whenever someone assumes that everyone on a team likes each other or even respects each other the same way everyone from a certain area wants to continue their career in the same area.
  19. He is a smallish college free agent. Long shot to make the NHL. Extreme long shot to play on first line. Think Brian Flynn which isn't a bad thing.
  20. New report saying weakening Canadien dollar could cost NHL $70 million off new TV deal and could have side impact of players not increasing their escrow %. While the cap won't go down, initial projections of $71/72M could be rolled back to just over $68M. This could actually be the Cap crunch that has been predicted every year since salary caps started.
  21. No
  22. I guess its time I chime in; Sabres make Babcock highest paid coach in NHL history Grigs and Hodgson are traded Eichel is picked #2 and signs a contract within a month of the draft Sabres acquire Sharp and Hjalmalsson from Chicago for picks and a prospect Neuvirth is brought back along with Lindback And one other major move, either Kessel, Arizona's pick, O'Reilly or Eberle, I can't decide. I can't win anyway so........
  23. Have to admit, I was never a big fan of Enroth but I am very surprised at how poorly he played for Dallas.
  24. It was an exchange on Twitter. Wasn't sure he was serious at first because it was in response to a sarcastic exchange between Jeremy White and Matthew Coller but he got agitated when he was questioned. When asked to elaborate he wouldn't saying it was still too early. I wouldn't be too worried at this point. It could have been someone just voicing surprise at how far away he was from an NHL product early in the year.
