You are right, it looks good on the resume and its definitely not a negative. However, player development is one of the hardest things to evaluate and get a handle on. It's no different then the stories of Risto and Grigs. The narrative is that Risto benefited and the Grigs suffered but who knows if the results would have been different if they were handled differently? Its not like we can prove it either way,

Casey Bailey, Matt O'connor. Any other college free agents?

Thanks. -
Seems like you would be the perfect person to plan something like this. I might be interested.

Evan Rodigues Signs with Sabres Confirmed 2 YR Deal

Except that he had already played 4 seasons so I don't think the NCAA was going to let Rodrigues stay. -

You said inevitable. now. The now implies a correlation. I think he may sign here but I really think it has nothing to do with Rodrigues. -

You mean its possible a sought after goaltender won't sign here just because someone he played with for four years has? Who knows if he will but I find it funny whenever someone assumes that everyone on a team likes each other or even respects each other the same way everyone from a certain area wants to continue their career in the same area. -

He is a smallish college free agent. Long shot to make the NHL. Extreme long shot to play on first line. Think Brian Flynn which isn't a bad thing. -
Who does Tim Murray Trade in the summer of 2015?
tom webster replied to LGR4GM's topic in The Aud Club
New report saying weakening Canadien dollar could cost NHL $70 million off new TV deal and could have side impact of players not increasing their escrow %. While the cap won't go down, initial projections of $71/72M could be rolled back to just over $68M. This could actually be the Cap crunch that has been predicted every year since salary caps started. -
I guess its time I chime in; Sabres make Babcock highest paid coach in NHL history Grigs and Hodgson are traded Eichel is picked #2 and signs a contract within a month of the draft Sabres acquire Sharp and Hjalmalsson from Chicago for picks and a prospect Neuvirth is brought back along with Lindback And one other major move, either Kessel, Arizona's pick, O'Reilly or Eberle, I can't decide. I can't win anyway so........

Ryan Miller benched for playoffs in favor of Eddie Lack...

Have to admit, I was never a big fan of Enroth but I am very surprised at how poorly he played for Dallas. -
It was an exchange on Twitter. Wasn't sure he was serious at first because it was in response to a sarcastic exchange between Jeremy White and Matthew Coller but he got agitated when he was questioned. When asked to elaborate he wouldn't saying it was still too early. I wouldn't be too worried at this point. It could have been someone just voicing surprise at how far away he was from an NHL product early in the year.

For what it's worth, John Wawrow. AP writer, reports that some within organization have expressed concern over Sam's development

So what if the Sabres get the first two picks in 2015....
tom webster replied to dejeanneret's topic in The Aud Club
Chicago has two Cups and will still be a top contender for years to come. And by the way, they still have a couple of top prospects although losing Kevin Hayes for nothing hurt. Pittsburgh has just butchered their roster and it has had little to do with its top two guys. Poor choices in goal, on defense and on the bottom 6 or more telling and it's not like they won't contend for a few more years either. -

Chicago has down a great job of managing their cap so far although the Canadien dollar could do them in this time.Pittsburgh's problems are more about their failure to fill the rest of the roster and some costly injuries. Crosby and Malkin are not the problem. -
Can you post the link, please?

He was an asset used to obtain a top 3 forward. How is that a mis calculation? The odds of him even making the NHL as anything more then a third liner are remote anyway.
-
That's exactly it. He felt he was a first round pick and wanted to be paid like one. I can't believe so much time is being spent on a fringe first round/ second round pick. Its a symptom of the internet age. Ten to fifteen years ago nobody even knew who was drafted after the first round because it is so rare that they amount to anything. On top of that, Murray has a completely different approach to drafting after the first round. Where Darcy and his staff played it safe and ended up with a boatload of third and fourth liners, Murray is swinging for the fences with the hope of getting lucky once or twice knowing that eighty percent will be career AHL'ers at best

Unfortunately, TN won't be able to prove me wrong as his NHL career has ended.
-
Not that he didn't care he just doesn't know how.
-
Yeah, they will have to adjust to a coach that cares about their development and actually knows how to best utilize their God given ability. They may even have to adjust to a coach asking for their opinion and who thinks they deserve PPP time over some career minor leaguer.
-
I will be honest, I have no idea what kind of success he had in juniors but the Olympic thing is being blown out of proportion. He had a goalie okay out of his head, gained some plaudits for it but didn't win a thing. And just check out the average age of the team.
-
And that is a huge point and a huge misconception. TN is not great with young players, especially young talented pkayers. I definitely felt that he implied the player exit interviews were the final straw.

I am so sure this happens that I have considered giving everyone that says he stays a mulligan

There is no deadline but obviously anything that happens before you post counts against you.
