  1. Sorry, can't let that go. Stafford might not have been what we all wanted him to be but no one that played with him thought he was unprepared or didn't care. In fact, most felt he cared too much and was too hard on himself. Russell is a poster child for just a complete waste of talent.
  2. I agree. Not only do I believe the bottom six quality is good enough, I believe it could end up being one of the best.
  3. All teams have emergency call ups. You can't sign a guy like Stewart as an injury replacement. As captain, Gionta has to play third line winger and his play and leadership last year makes him deserving. The only forward this team needs is someone that would improve the top six and allow them more patience with Samson if he doesn't earn a spot. Stewart is not that.
  4. It takes at least a year for the league to issue a suspension for this kind of stuff. I don't think they need him anyway but a suspension would not be an issue.
  5. I'm thinking that and next year's unprotected #1 is what the ask is but not yet the offer.
  6. I agree with the sentiment that he was a great player but not Hall of Fame worthy. What I still can't believe after thinking about it for three days is that he played for the Csps in the 88 playoff series. I'm sure I watched every minute of that series, was at every home game and still don't remember him playing.
  7. I believe Oduya is going to re up with Chicago once they take care of their cap issues
  8. I wouldn't bet on it either but was just pointing out that not everyone thinks the deal was horrible from a Chicago point of view
  9. It is the Post, but the way this whole Arixona thing has been handled, I wouldn't be surprised either way
  10. NY Post reporting that Atizona being sold and moved to Las Vegas in time for 2016/17 season.
  11. They have won three Cups in five years. While I think they may have over played their hand with respect to Sharp, I think they earned the benefit of the doubt. Like Hoss said, there is a lot we don't know with respect to their attempts to clear cap space. On top of that, I have heard three respected analyst in the last three hours predict that Dano will outscore Saad within the next three years.
  12. As I said previously, I like Martin but Bylsma said that despite being a left handed shot he prefers top play the right side and without knowing if any of our RHD can play left, I would stick with looking to add a LHD that prefers the left side.
  13. I don't think The Kings are covering anything up. The implication was that the authorities know what happened but they may not press charges. However, if Richards fights termination the accusations would become public record. Also, Lombardi in admitting his mistake implied that Richards lied to him when he looked him in the eye and told him he was committed to working his ass off to report to camp in the kind of shape the team expected. Maybe they found out something that would contradict that commitment.
  14. I have heard it implied that something illegal that as of yet has not involved charges. And because Richards people are still hoping it doesn't result in charges, there is a good chance they may be forced to accept termination.
  15. Good point although I think that both Eichel and ROR will sign by next week. ubkev makes a good point as well but threw in a prediction that will be impossible to evaluate before the season starts. I am still holding out hope for that Chicago trade but of course I can't win.
  16. I was just going to ask the same thing. By the way, during his interview Bylsma also stated that Paul Martin prefers and is more comfortable on teh right side despite being a left handed shot so I guess that eliminates him.
  17. I've read some references to this contest so I thought I'd ask, who does everyone think is the leader at this point?
  18. Luke Adam has not been qualified and is a free agent!!!! Dallas or Buffalo?
  19. I don't know who initially reported it although I did hear it during draft coverage. However, guys on WGR mentioned it this morning.
  20. Hodgson on unconditional waivers for purpose of buy out
  21. I misunderstood then. We appear to be on the same page.
  22. I, for one, think that Murray has done a tremendous job. However, I disagree on the balance issue. The Blackhawks have proven that the successful model is three or four stars, some solid veterans and a constantly rotating pool of prospects.
  23. I think there is one move still coming....stay tuned
  24. Could mean they are just messing with us
  25. Sakic and Murray walking up to draft stage together.
