  1. Nationally. I have been told that at least three NFL teams approached TP after sale was complete to see if Brandon was available and that the NFL was also interested if he didn't remain with team.
  2. I have been telling all you nay sayers, Brandon is very highly thought of.
  3. Getting back to the subject at hand, didn't Toronto snd Deluca say the same thing when Burke and then Carlisle came to town?
  4. I don't think anyone denies that. My only two points all along have been that it's consenting adults and its nothing a lot of us haven't done before on a much smaller budget( see my previous post). I'm surprised more hasn't been made of McCoy's previous attempt at this kind of thing only with a party bus. Obviously there was at least one woman who didn't understand the deal. The problem when we get into these kind of debates is that when I say I understand him having this kind of party it sounds like I'm ok with everything he stands for and that's not true.
  5. 1) Actually, he has done it before so I don't know about sick and tired. 2) Local TV? The same local TV that spent half a day telling us about how some shcmuck got taken by a girl he met on line for $125 and somehow felt this was newsworthy? As for this story, the reporting I saw seemed more focus on his use of the Bills logo. But to answer your question, In my mind there is absolutely nothing predatory about it. I think reality tv is ten times worse because they prey upon the stupid and less fortunate. These woman know what to expect and if they don't, they just have to google McCoy and party bus to find out what happens if they don't want to play along.
  6. But these are consenting adults. In an "abuse of power" scenario, a superior, be it a boss, a teacher, a parent uses their power to manipulate a subordinate to get what they want.
  7. Hoss, You got this liberal, save the world mentality. You speak about the right of woman to be treated equal, to wear what they choose, to act the way they want, (all things are agree with, by the way) but you want to be their protector as well. You refuse to believe that a segment of the female population is just like Shady. When you are exploiting someone, by definition these people don't know they are being exploited. The woman that are sending rsvp's know exactly what they are signing up for. I know you hate any reference to your profession, but when you start hanging around locker rooms and athletes you will see these for yourself. Another word of advice, just because everyone you follow believes the same thing, it doesn't mean that "everyone" believes the same way. There are very few topics where you can get the whole of the population to form a unanimous opinion.
  8. Forgot to add, all 8 of us used the same guys name and address (no cell phones back then). That guy was getting letters for years.
  9. 35 years ago I went down to Daytona beach with 8 friends. I spent $10K I had saved up on beer, goldschlager(?) and coke. We invited every girl on the beach into our block of rooms. At one point we had over sixty girls in our room including 4 girls from the front desk that were sent up to stop the party. God knows how much easier it would have been with the Internet. When we got back home we were broke but had the time of our lives. We all started our careers because we had little choice. If I had had $20 million, I'd probably still be down there selling maps on the beach. It's just not a big deal.
  10. And the woman rsvp'ing know exactly what they are applying for. All he really did is publicize and formalize what goes on every day. Young, good looking guys with fame and crazy amounts of money and woman whose life's ambition is to be the one who got the guy.
  11. With Wilson, it was never being cheap, although that was continuously misrepresented. That he didn't spend wisely is obvious but they were never near the bottom in actual cash paid out. He had a long held belief that money was wasted on coaches and front offices and was loyal to a fault but he was never as cheap as was reported.
  12. I think Marcus Foligno actually suffers from reverse "legacy" discrimination. I hear over and over again how he is just here because of his name, he's an average third liner, etc. etc. In my mind he is another young player that was thrown to the wolves too early and thus people forget how young he still is. I have no way of knowing what he will turn into but I can tell you that the front office is still high on him and believe he has been among the most mis-used players on the team. Doesn't mean he is untouchable and could still be moved in a trade for a d-man but he won't be a throw in.
  13. Don't forget UB football and a it's Academic as well.
  14. RIP, Van. Besides the aforementioned memories, I will always remember his calls for the Braves games. I was also fortunate to have met him when I was chosen for a segment of Tuesday evening quarterback. He truly was like your favorite uncle.
  15. Its still an effective marketing tool but not quite as effective as the days before the internet and 24 hours news coverage.
  16. Between 1976 and 1993 I probably could have given a run for your money. Of course, I attribute most of that to first dating, then marrying, a crazy half Indian, half Italian girl. Fun times, more fun times and some really bad but kind of fun times.
  17. Not in '93 either
  18. For the record, they didn't trade Dumont, they walked away from his arbitration award. Most believe they chose Kotalik over Dumont. I believe this was actually the beginning of the end.
  19. The more, the merrier
  20. Need a why and what in event tie breaker is needed but I like the choice.
  21. I have decided drnkirishone won the contest but he will be unable to accept tickets and apparently has no one he wants to give them to. Therefore, I am initiating a secondary contest. Pick a player you think will be surprise to make the team out of camp and through first month of season. Winner gets two tickets to game and if the player plays the entire season making a major contribution, winner will get two playoff tickets to first playoffs Sabres make and an autographed jersey of said player. Just name the player and tell us why you think he is the one and what you expect him to contribute. One disclaimer, while on season tickets will be my own prime seats, the playoff tickets will be somewhere in FNC and jersey will not be game worn.
  22. Must say, not a big fan. He's a solid 4/5 that's going to get 2/3 money and term.
  23. Yeah, it's looking like they will fire him by end of week. Probably same time Hoss predicts Brady news will come.
