I don't think I'll be watching this one either, but who knows. Friendsgiving tonight, so maybe?

That's what I like about winter. The weather outside is crappy and cold which motivates me to put more time in at work on side projects, or at home reading or playing with a new hobby. Plus I can get back to playing hockey which is my preferred exercise. Winter is nice and I don't know if I could ever live somewhere without a change in seasons. It's worth the hassle of snow and coats and boots.

45 and Rainy is the worst weather. Anything warmer or colder is better.

The internet said the post office was closed today. But it was open!

I've only heard good things about the Sparx, but I've never used one. I would be partial to the flexibility and the customer service of established skate sharpener companies like Blademaster, but I understand that may not be a need for you. If you're only sharpening your own skates and maybe your kid's skates every few weeks then the Sparx is probably fine for you. I've heard that they struggle with goalie skates over size 10, so keep that in mind if that's something you think you might encounter.

GDT: Florida Panthers at Buffalo Sabres, 7pm, 11/10/17

The Panthers always beat us in extremely boring games. I almost never watch Panthers/Sabres games. -
They're supposed to be pretty good. That said, learning to sharpen your own skates isn't really that hard. An afternoon of practice when I worked at a pro shop was all it took to get me going. Buy a pair of used skates from the local used sporting goods store and practice on those blades. Mess them up as much as you want.

Flying Bison has a Small Batch Series brew out right now called Blackbird Stout, and it might be the best beer Flying Bison has ever made.

Give me all the Star Wars content! -
Someday I'm going to buy the right pair of hockey skates. I'm still trying to find a replacement for my crappy Vapors that I used all through college. First I ended up in new Vapors that were too big, then I ended up in Supremes that were too small. Now I'm standing at the hockey store waiting for a pair of Ribcores to get sharpened. I want to say these are finally the winners, but who the hell knows. But my broken feet from Monday sure feel a lot better in them, so we'll see.

What'd we do to deserve these defensive injuries. And what shaman do we need to find to make it stop.

That's what I keep telling her! Do the Moulson shirt so we can put him on LTIR!

This is an interesting take. I like it.

We probably scout plenty around here. But let's face the facts: There simply aren't as many kids here playing hockey at a high enough level as there are across large swaths of Canada and even the US. I know we love to call ourselves a hockey town, but we're not nearly as hockey crazy as most of Canada and a lot of the more northern and coastal US states. We're just not spitting out the highest quality talent at a high volume to expect a constant stream of WNY kids into the NHL. It's why the ones from here who are special tend to get noticed. They stick out like sore thumbs. You can't be NHL bound around here without everyone knowing about you by the time you're in high school.

Additionally, if you're doing things like watching video, it's probably better not to over-analyze bad plays, but spend more time focusing on good plays. If you know what a good play looks like, then you should be able to identify and correct a bad one without even looking at the tape.

For as long as he's been in the league the T has been pronounced. Hardly the NBC guy's fault.

Training dogs is kinda the same way right? You can't just yell at them or hit them to make them behave. You have to show them the difference in how their behaviors are responded to. Want your dog not to bark? Teach them a command that encourages them to bark and reward it. Then teach them the command for not barking and reward that. I think though, that for humans, the processing of guilt is probably a little more complex, which is why negative responses can in fact make a difference. Getting fired from a job for being a bum should definitely teach you a lesson if an employer has already been quite patient and positive with you.

You mean the coach shouldn't come out before every game and talk about how good the other team is, and then come out after every game and talk about how good the other team was?
