  1. Got this resource? Don Paul mentioned it in the News. https://www.star.nesdis.noaa.gov/GOES/sector_band.php?sat=G16&sector=ne&band=GEOCOLOR&length=12 Clouds seem to be moving to the east a little faster than thought. Maybe some miracle chance there will be peaks of sun in five hours?
  2. The Hockey Gods were not to be outdone, what with PK sticking a fork in the Sabres.
  3. I would drive an hour or two to see it if local conditions are poor, but there still isn't good guidance on where that might be. Burlington VT and Akron OH, sure. The original point of this thread was to ask if being near the shoreline would make sense on an otherwise cloudy day inland.
  4. Candy could move on the ice for a big man.
  5. What I do with the forecast is up to me. I'm doing research on cloud patterns in spring near Lake Erie and would like to come to Buffalo next weekend. Aud's nerds at the airport are telling me Saturday will be partly sunny (mostly cloudy but after another work week with crummy weather they need to give us some hope). According to you that forecast is unrealistic. What's the point then? My problem with meteorologists is they want the cool, smart cred to tell us the weather five, seven, 10, 45 (!) days in advance, and have us believe it. Normally it only ruins someone's outdoor plans. But when 10s of millions of people are counting on it, suddenly it's... What do we know? Check back at 1:30 on Monday. They're bums.
  6. If the Flyers lose to the BJs and the Sabres beat the Wings and the Sens beat the Caps, the planets might really be aligning.
  7. Life's funny. It's going to be so awkward for thousands of people filing into the arena for Game 3. Will they have no shame?
  8. I would ask why the same NWS office has a forecast for next Friday for the city of Buffalo, but you conceded, so I won't. Meteorologists aren't honest until they have to be. Tens of millions of people are looking to them. Kudos I guess for saying who the hell knows. But what about the other 364 days of the year?
  9. People who won't own their opinions are also tools. If the Sabres are ever good, should I deny ever saying anything bad about Terry?
  10. We're 48 hours out. There should be more certainty. You can't just say let's wait until noon on Monday and we'll have a better idea.
  11. Remember what the carrot has always been going alllll the way back to Suffering. The franchise was not going to be about just making the playoffs. They were building and still are building a team that would perennially contend.
  12. I think this goes back to at least his blowing up at the refs after a correct call after perhaps some dubious calls. I think it's all tied to season ticket renewal time.
  13. The darkness does nothing for me. Odd, innit?
  14. It is. But the Sabres are counting on it. Hell DG probably saved his job by calling one freaking timeout.
  15. I'd say it's ruined if you can't see the event. Imagine paying to see the Sabres play in the dark. Wait... Meanwhile Buffalo weather nerds are really going out on a limb. "Cloud forecast during the Monday afternoon eclipse remains uncertain at this junction and may not even be fully known until just a few hours before the event starts." Nate Silver says hello. Is the jig completely up on "experts" yet? As the older folk say, Just look out the window.
  16. I don't get why Dan has to say stuff like The Sabres are looking for a goal here... Flyers are looking to tie it up. Duh.
  17. That's the other thing. Why is the puck sticking in the net so much this year? There's no visual clue there's a goal.
  18. The end wall behind the Philly net is retaining representation.
  19. Kudos to someone at the Sabres. Goal announcement did not read Philadelphia's FIRST goal.
  20. I feel like in the Roswell slogan Spend Just One Day With Us! the exclamation point is not a good choice.
