But Ruff was also here when 1. Terry's spending spree failed and 2. Internal budgets under Knox/Rigas and OSP were accompanied by several Cusps @Sabres Fan in NS. So he might merely have been convinced that if and when the team gets close, Terry will put them over the top and certainly won't let good teams be dismantled. Ruff might accept the challenge of getting the team close under conditions akin to the good/bad old days.
