Only Lindy knows. Eleven, too, probably. I remember doing the research. Almost every NHL head coach had someone on staff with NHL or AHL coaching experience. Coaching trees are fun to consider as well.

A million times yes. I look behind the players sometimes and scratch my head. Lindy never wanted top assistants either. His pierogie. But he had earned the right. The cynic in me gets fired up. How seriously should this franchise be taken with those guys alongside DG? I'll get blowback of course, but there can't be anyone here who thinks THAT is the coaching staff when they're in the final.

Opening the window and hearing peepers after the Sabres win a playoff game in OT is romantic. I want the guy in goal who gives the best chance of making that possible. For the record I've not said anything negative about Levi. I think the only person I've suggested isn't interested in making the playoffs is KA. I'm not sure it matters much. It's a four head monster now. Defend the goal and score some goals and JWB. Now allow me to go all Weave-Spock. Would UPL or Comrie have had a better or worse S% than Levi playing Levi's college schedule? I mean if Levi's already better than those two at the NHL level, they must be worse than him at the college level.

He'd be playing every game. Duh. Lots of reasons, but in trying to flesh them out I realized they're not specific to Levi, whom I will admit being unfamiliar with. More situational things. It's probably not the best thought experiment. It's not about a whole season, just a few games. What most seem to be thinking is that he can fly under the radar to some extent (pull off something near miraculous before he realizes what he's doing). It's funny that there's more doubt as to whether he can or should be the starter NEXT season than whether he should be the starter the rest of the way.

I haven't been obnoxious. I'm solid enough in my thinking to not have to resort to it. Maybe some of you are not quite convinced.

Speaking of reasonable, is the following a reasonable way of looking at things? The three headed monster in goal has been, uh, monstrous, but using the very simplistic metric of wins, their results have been acceptable. Enough to put the team tantalizingly close to the postseason. For the sake of argument, if Levi had started every game this season, where would we be? I have little doubt it would be: well out of the race.

The obnoxiousness is dismissing out of hand very reasonable arguments for not going all in on Levi at this particular moment.
