  1. That cannot be, Kristers Gudlevskis is 6'3"!
  2. Double thanks! I wonder why this particular feed works when all the other CBS Sports Radio stations (like 610 or whatever) still have Rome on. EDIT: and there's a Czech'N goal against just as I start listening. I'm cursed.
  3. To me, the simple math is we need a lot of help at forwards, and the more 1st round forwards you pick the more chance you hit on a few of them. BUt it's not that big a deal. If with the Sabres 3rd 1st round pick they take a GT it's OK, I guess, but it'll be interesting to see what skaters are picked shortly after that end up making it. I'm not talking about the 5th round Datsyuk, of course, since no one is betting on those guys.
  4. I'm guessing NBC has the rights to all online streaming so WGR can't stream over the internet even if they're broadcasting locally. I'll just chalk this up to another reason I'm just giving up on seeing any of the Olympics. FWIW, the Bills games on WGR are similar. You can't stream the Bills to a mobile device as far as I can tell. Laptops work fine though, making the restrictions doubly stupid.
  5. Anyone have an audio feed to listen to? Seems like WGR via tunein app is blacked out.
  6. No doubt, but it still just sounds silly, eh?
  7. Just spitballing, when you're the 3rd-best (or at least 2nd best) player on a line, you might get better looks when the D are focussed on the other two guys. Especially if the other guys can get you the puck.
  8. Probably moving Canada-Latvia to one of the hench-networks (MSNBC or something).
  9. And apparently being called a traitor in Canada (I kid you not).
  10. I see to miss a lot of calls and notifications if I do that. I don't feel the vibration and with where I keep my phone, I really wish I could. ;)
  11. "Masalskis has been strong all tournament, which is remarkable when you consider that the goaltender has barely played at all this season. The netminder spent parts of the previous five campaigns in the KHL, but he couldn’t secure a contract in Russia for 2013-14, in part due to his injury history." I dunno, guy can't hang in the KHL. I guess you could hope he stays healthy.
  12. That looks like a big pile of no correlation to me between #of shots and save percentage. However, there would probably be a correlation between # of shots and GAA and # of shots and SOs. If you're facing 20% more shots per game than the GT facing the least (which looks like about the right spread, 30 +-3), you're going to give up 20% more goals, all else being equal. That's why I see GAA and SO as far more team dependent that SV%.
  13. Yep, that sounds like it 100% kicks NBC's ass. On broadcast, we get the nightly "random assortment of sports in between watching figure skating" and I think some overnight stuff live (midnight to 5). You'd think they'd at least put stuff on all-day on the weekends, but it's just regular programming. And the streaming on the web requires that you sign in with your cable-provider account. I guess that's what you do when you're owned by a cable company. ###### Comcast.
  14. But her GAA is 1.0 for the game!
  15. Can we say it's *possible* that having a team of AHLers in front of him doesn't help with GAA and SOs? Someone with more time than I have today could look to see if points% (wins) correlates with SO and GAA.
  16. Only some rec-level folks. Normal couple, engineer types. My guess is you get a higher representation of princesses, but there's bound to be a few that are chill people.
  17. This is the one that on the initial discovery was thought somewhat likely to hit, right?
  18. I'd almost argue that humans, having the intelligence to understand procreation, may well be the only exception to pure evolution. But more accurately we evolve in different ways, based on a person's likelihood to have the opportunity to spawn (socially inept need not apply) and desire to take advantage of it. Technology also has a hand in this, in that the weak survive more often now, either by medicine or not relying solely on themselves for food and protection.
  19. Same here, really. Most of the above I did before I had an Android phone (4+ years ago) and just keep moving them on each time I change phones. There was a awhile I had a bell-style too. One thing I tried and couldn't find was a good puck-off-the-post sound to use for the notification sound. Anyone got a good sample?
  20. Good call. Enroth seems to move a lot in the net, which when there's a rebound (not very rare) he often seems to be out of position. With more film, it looks to me like it'll be something teams start to pick up on. I think he's moving around a lot to cover the net because he's short. :)
  21. In management-speak, this is "putting people in a position to succeed". You give someone a task that's a challenge to attainable (winning in the AHL) and then give them a bigger challenge after that.
  22. I've had the same ringtones for years now. It's pretty rare that anyone calls me, so they're not really put into use much. I use the tool "Audacity" (on windows or Linux) to cut up MP3s, then upload them to my Android phone. there's a particular directory (that I can find if anyone needs it) on the phone that doesn't get scanned by the music player so you don't get snippets of songs in your shuffle. Anyways: General Ringtone: KMFDM - Megalomanic when the beat comes in, at 45s. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xwhOTNQcQq4 Wifey ringtone: 7 seconds of Love - Flip out like a Ninja (there's a story there), at 22s when the verson Drunk friend Chuk: 69 boyz - donkey. He used to get drunk and sing it, so he gets it. I should really assign one for my parents, since that pretty much covers everyone I talk to on the phone.
  23. You'd think Vanek would be used to playing on a team with very few NHL-caliber players.
  24. No cable. It seems like there was a lot of stuff on broadcast in 2012, maybe the time difference has something to do with it. I've been to Hunter once or twice, and I'll second that review. It's the place all the city folk go, so it's generally crowded. Windham is better. My favorite in the Catskills is Plattekill, though. It's a smaller place in terms of runs and lifts, but it's rarely crowded and there's enough to keep me busy. It's kind of "old school" though, with a basic lodge so it's not like the newer, fancy mountains. They do let you ski anywhere on the property though it you're into glades.
  25. On the plus side, I saw some game-worn Latvia jerseys on ebay yesterday from previous years for $132-ish. Maybe in a few weeks/months the real thing will be available.
