I feel like you answered your own question here. If you want to do right by them, take care of it early. and in another note, there is nothing better than being told “we can do better than that” when you give a salary figure. I got that comment 10 years ago from my current job.

KC obviously wanted the guy and Buffalo did not. So if the Bills take someone else there, I’d imagine that KC then tries to make a deal with the next teams in the draft order. I feel like it’s a very high probability that they were going to get their guy.

I’m driving through a Costco parking lot right by the front entrance. This guy wearing obnoxiously large headphones no look walks out in front of my car, tapping away at his phone. Really, it’s no big deal, I’m paying attention and I full expect to stop in front of stores. This douche then proceeds to stop right in front of my car in the middle of the crosswalk and continues to tap away on the phone. I have so little hope for the future of mankind.

I love that story from a few years ago about how Kiper has DVDs of the Carson era Tonight Show and he watches them Monday-Friday at 11:30 each night.
