Hopefully that is what we can discuss in here. After all of that, I think we can dismiss the cap discussion, at least when it comes to Sobotka. Berglund could be more of an issue since he has 4 years left. This team doesn't have any current cap issues over the remaining two years of Sobotka's deal. I think you nailed the rest of what is needed from these guys as well. Ideally, they help to give this team a little more depth. We need them to be supplemental pieces to this team. In terms of the trade, that's also what they were.

The connection I was getting at had nothing to do with Perreault. Housley and Andreychuk were drafting in the same year, both in the first round. The Sabres also drafted Paul Cyr in between them. Those top two may just be the top guys on the entire list though, depending on who does the ranking. That's definitely a rarity.

There's actually a third guy who ties into the interesting connection. And another one I just realized now, both of those guys were traded away for another eventual hall of famer.

It drops off pretty quickly considering that the top two guys on the list won't qualify as prospects anymore after this season, using the criteria they outline. I suppose #4 Guhle could fall of too if things go well for him this year.
