  1. In honor of the Carolina area, I feel like it's a must to smoke them. That and who brings a microwave or toaster to a tailgate? And I'll be at that game. I have no idea where, but I'll post it when I eventually buy the tickets. I have to get the January game first.
  2. Here's the original post: So it's not about censoring what is already censored. It's about posts where people intentionally circumvent the filter. As 11 stated, a very simple request.
  3. You've done us a great service over the years by making this place available to all of us. I've never understood times like this where a very simple request from you is met with even the slightest amount of hostility. Is transposing the "u" and the "c" truly that important to people? And as for Toronto, Blow Leafs Blow will always be my favorite.
  4. I'm with you 100%. Hutton misread the bounce and as a result wound up out of position. It's a tough break but it happens. I was thinking the same thing last night about Ray's horrible explanation. He does that far too often. I can't tell if its homerism or how much he really can see from down there between the benches, especially when it comes to replays.
  5. The term locker room cancer is what I question with this whole thing. I don't know if he's a problem in the room, but there's definitely a disturbing trend on the ice at this point. It's tough to pin it all on him, but for whatever reason, teams with Ryan O'Reilly don't win. It definitely raises an eyebrow.
  6. Great, now I'm creeped out.
  7. That same lack of production that makes him easy to retain on a cheap contract. It’s a blessing in disguise.
  8. I just saw a quote in one of the recaps where Beaulieu said Ristolainen's celebration was embarrassing and completely ruined the goal. That's too funny. I want more quotes like that one.
  9. The BU fans that I would talk to last year were always gushing about him, regardless of his point production. All too often those stats are what drives the prospect discussions on the board. I envy the people who are actually able to see these kids play instead of just seeing a bunch of box scores.
  10. It's probably completely subconscious, but I think that language winds up lowering the bar a bit on the level of the conversation. It's more likely to spark some of the petty arguments that can derail a thread. I still cringe most of the time I see them written out here. After riding the subways in Boston for so long where you'd be stuck next to people where every other word in a sentence (if you can call it that) was an f-bomb, it starts to become very lazy and unoriginal. I think most people here are capable of better.
  11. I wouldn't be surprised if the whole reason is that I've lucked my way into missing his good starts.
  12. Me personally, I think that since the filter is active, it’s clearly there for a reason. I’ve always found it odd that people actually have to make the conscious effort to dance around it. I could never train myself to make the same exact typo every single time. That said, it is kind of funny to see someone complaining about people complaining.
  13. And he looks just like their fellow Pennsylvanian Dwight Schrute!
  14. Whatever they wind up being, just enjoy the ride. Things don’t often get more fun than they are right now.
  15. Has that ever been substantiated or is it just his word that he’s been tested “like 5 times”? All I found with a limited google search was that quote and that wording could point towards exaggeration for the sake of making a point.
  16. The Sabres are tied for 3rd in the only power ratings that really matter.
  17. I like how they listed the 77-78 record in one goal games as 10-4-0. That last column's a bit redundant since a one goal game couldn't possibly fall into the tie column back then. It would be a zero goal game. So those two stats aren't directly comparable thanks to the rule changes, inflating the number of one goal games. But still, not a single loss in regulation, that's the stuff that gets you into the playoffs. When you do lose them, you're still getting a point out of it.
  18. Well he can drive himself, you just refuse to let him. Your priorities are way out of order.
  19. It's just a gut feeling, but I feel like we're watching an eventual career backup in Ullmark.
  20. That coaching staff, at least Hakstol (I have no clue who the assistants are), is Hextall's going off the playbook all or nothing move. You'd have to think that he was probably on his way out anyway if Hakstol was sent packing.
  21. Do you have any idea how many of those "everyone else" points are from when Eichel/Skinner aren't on the ice or at least come from a play where those two did not get a goal/assist? I get the feeling that these numbers undervalue the goal production that Eichel/Skinner bring to any given game.
  22. Thanks. So I fully expect a few "setbacks" during that time frame.
  23. Hopefully he's dumb enough to accept it. There's no way the bank cashes that check.
  24. Redmond doesn't have an NHL contract, so he won't be getting called up. They'd have to sign him in order to do that. He knew what his role would be this year and he willingly signed up for it. I wouldn't be surprised if that's actually playing a big part in his performance. He knows where he's going to be and he's comfortable.
