  1. I don't know, people seem to mention him all the time around here. So both exes are obsessed but refuse to acknowledge it.
  2. Sorry, I have no idea what happened, how that post got into this thread and how it wound up quoting you.
  3. Buffalo is not making moves to stock Cincinnati. The majority of that team is not under contract with the Buffalo/Rochester organizations. It's not their concern.
  4. But they traded a D for this D, so it really doesn't make that chain of callups any more possible than it was before. These minor league trades are always interesting because it's tough for pretty much anyone to figure out what the hell is going on, yet people are still going to speculate about the reasons. And now my random speculation. My guess is that Botterill's only involvement in this deal was as a rubber stamp. Randy Sexton and whoever Tampa's minor league guy is did all the driving here.
  5. I’m not really sure how that makes a case for Wilson over Prescott and Cousins. That’s one nice thing of reading this on my phone, I can easily rotate that plot. The three of them look to be right in line with each other. and am I blind or do I not see Josh Allen anywhere?
  6. I wonder if they even could LTIR Okposo. Concussions are such a mixed bag. Even with his history I wonder if they could actually make the claim the he’d be out that long. I haven’t seen the injury list so I don’t know what they have him listed at, even if that’s not exactly a scientific system.
  7. OJ was the most public murder trial in the history of mankind. In a world driven by PR, it’s tough finding anything that comes anywhere close to matching up with that one.
  8. We had to buy a new car within the last two months and ever since, I've been flooded with extended warranty robocalls and junk mail. Apparently the wife is getting them too. It's easy enough to ignore the robocalls, but for whatever reason the damn things all leave voicemails. I'm the type who wants to clear out any notifications on my phone, so the voicemail requires one extra step to rid the phone of all of those little red circles. I think verizon had actually been taking steps to eliminate the spam calls. I was down to almost none of them up until the new car.
  9. The whole Myles Garrett thing just took an incredibly predictable turn...
  10. Then there are the guys currently in top 6 roles who are much better suited for bottom 6. They get bumped back down so addressing the top 6 also addresses the bottom 6.
  11. Does NY require a police "escort" for the work zones? I know some people like to complain about the cost of something like that, but I've always viewed that as the most effective way to protect the guys out there. The flashing lights tend to catch the attention of most drivers. The ones who miss that are probably going to miss just about anything. The earbud thing, now that's one that drives me crazy. I was always under the impression that wearing headphones while driving was illegal, but maybe that's not the case. The ones I see all the time are people wearing those obnoxiously large headphones while driving. Now if by some chance they're just wearing them and not actually listening to anything, there still has to be at least some level of noise cancellation from that. So now you don't hear honks, sirens, or something else like a train whistle. How stupid can you be?
  12. It's one single car approaching the front of the line like that which leads to the increased speed. If more people are using that lane it would naturally cause that slow down that you're calling for. And if you want to prevent people from approaching the work zone with speed, build in a bigger buffer between the lane closure and the actual start of the work zone.
  13. @Ogre Most cars merging over early like that actually slows down traffic significantly. The full road winds up not being used and multiple choke points are created. The most efficient is to use both lanes and then have people alternately merge at the point of the lane shift. The problem is that it's tough to get more people to follow this practice, it's so ingrained in us to merge over early. Google "zipper merge", traffic jams will be eased significantly if more people learn this. I get the feeling the cop put on a show for you because this kid did nothing wrong... well, other than the 911 call of course.
  14. Completely unrelated to the topic, but does anyone else get an ad for Uggs at the bottom of this link? I don't know why, but it looks like they photoshopped the head of the little girl on the left onto her body backwards.
  15. Teppo did have the surgery though. I'm not sure of the legality of the whole thing, but I feel like not showing up simply because of what is just a disagreement at this point warrants still getting paid. Having it done would force their hand. Sitting for two+ months because you need a surgery but then not actually having the surgery? It's a weird look. But like I said, I'm no lawyer.
  16. I know we're down on Vesey, but replacing the 100% perimeter game of Olofsson with someone who will actually go to the net may actually lead to some results. If nothing else, it can't possibly decrease the production of those two wings.
  17. Am I reading this right? He wants to have a surgery but the team doesn't want him to do it. If that's the case, actually having the surgery would probably help his appeal.
  18. I have a secret source too. Here's a hint: I'm sitting on it.
  19. So that was the house you were hiding out in front of back in those days? Good to know.
  20. And it screams hockey.
  21. Kind of early for a drink, don't you think? Yeah yeah, I saw what time you made that post. But I can't help but picture parents drinking during their kids' 6am practices.
  22. How would this have worked? Middle-aged PA makes a "post" and mails it out to SDS. He then hand writes multiple copies and mails those to everyone else. Two weeks later you trek out to the mailbox and finally find your response from Freeman calling you obtuse?
  23. So do they expect him to continue to get paid even though he never reported to the team? I've never seen any statement from his side on exactly why he's not there, but then again, I really haven't looked. If it's a health related thing, fine, but even with that you can't expect so say you'll play if and when you want to and still expect a routine salary. It's the player assistance program. It's a confidential thing so you won't get the specifics unless someone creepily leaks them out. It has to be some sort of personal or health issue. Think of it as a different type of LTIR, so that's where the cap relief comes from. More importantly, it's a program that will offer him assistance with whatever issue he may be facing. And after a quick google search, I had never read his background story before. That's some messed up stuff. I can't imagine living out a very public life under those circumstances.
  24. His spot on the depth chart could not be more obvious. He has played 4 games and each time it was when the number of healthy bodies dictated it. He's off to the waiver wire if/when the injured finally return. If by some chance they actually decide to carry 3 spare D and no Fs at that point, I've officially lost what little faith I had left. I'd much rather have Lazar or Asplund in the press box and available as opposed to 17 different defensemen.
  25. I've said it a few time on here and I'm still convinced that they made the gentleman's agreement when signing him that he would never go to the AHL. That's the only reason that makes any sense to me as to why he has stayed up 100% of the time. This type of agreement can't be made on paper, but the players and agents will remember it if you make that promise and then don't follow through.
