Or vice versa Mike.

Fack. Somebody needs to rip Nick Paul's head off.

Wonder where Dadanov plays next year? It won't be Vegas, Moe-ray-all, or Dallas, but there are still several other teams for him to wear out his welcome in.
-
Especially considering all the other pieces that Adams has stockpiled for the future, having the goaltending solidified for no cost other than his cap hit with no need to get rid of any of those pieces to soidify goaltending, is so frustrating. That negotiation was far and away Adams biggest blunder to date.

He plays for Edmonton. The fact that he can carry that sorry excuse for an organization into the playoffs perennially rather than continue to stockpile 1st overall picks is a major accomplishment in and of itself.

Preceded? Proceeded perhaps? ;)

GDT: Capitals @ Sabres - Feb. 26, 2023, 1pm, MSG, WGR
Taro T replied to Mustache of God's topic in The Aud Club
Get pumped to make up for Tuch being out of the lineup and take it to the Caps. Worry about finding the extra energy to make up for Alex's absence Tuesday on Tuesday. Hopefully Vinnie is the fastest thing on the ice with the extra adrenalin of being back in the NHL. -
Adams and Granato are in frequent conversations with Okposo and other players. Which guy do you think the team wanted to see brought up? Vinnie who they know can play at this level and has actually scored big goals on occassion for them (The breakaway goal against the Bolts last year most readily comes to mind.) or a rookie getting his 1st taste ever in the NHL? This was as no brainer a choice as no brainers come.
-
You get an opportunity to land the best player in the league for nothing but his actual value? Why not go for that? He actually wanted to be a Sabre at one point.

Yes, the odds of the most likely scenario are that Levi's time in Buffalo this year is watching from the pressbox with 1 game on the bench as the backup as UPL gets the bulk of the games. But, Levi has played against NHLers since his midteens and has been getting a mediocre team playing well above its actual skill level for a year and a half. He has exceeded expectations at every level he's played. Expect there's a reasonable chance for Levi to go off script with his opportunity. Yes, Miller was and is extremely thoughtful and cerebral, but he also has had a psychiatrist as one of his key advisors for many years. His overthinking and getting overwhelmed upon his initial foray into the NHL really isn't instructive here IMHO. Would really be interested in knowing how his 1st shot would've gone had it not been against his childhood favorite Red Wings. That was just too overwhelming for him. Maybe not having the storybook setting might have been something he would've been up to the challenge of. (Or at a minimum, maybe he wouldn't have been in tears in the postgame interview.)

Yes, definitely. Dollars to donuts says it's Hinostroza called up. Lines? Hoping Quinn goes to top line and Hinostroza takes his place on Krebs line. But Granato has a lot of options for how to backfill Tuch's slot.
-
Asplund doesn't replace any offense and with Tuch being out they'll most likely want to replace him with a player that at least isn't lost on the other side of the red line. Hinostroza is way better at forechecking and helping to generate offense than Rasmus is. They couldn't call up any Amerk without making a move. (Somebody to IR or somebody to Ra-cha-cha.) You might be right, he might be out longer than a week. (Hope not, obviously.) But with him missing a game or 2, it makes sense to IR him and have a better chance of gaining 4 points before going to Beantown without Tuch on Thursday with the likely loss than to hope Alex is ready by Thursday and he can play in the likely loss in Beantown but only heading there with 2 points.
-
Since tomorrow's game is at 1 PM, makes sense they'd call him up today. Considering players can retroactively be put on IR if they're healthy within 7 days of when they actually go on the IR list provided they weren't playing or practicing, that would explain why Tuch got placed on IR this afternoon rather than tomorrow. (They didn't have an open roster spot for Hinostroza until Tuch was IR'd.)
-
Would give them their strongest top line possible out of what remains. But that makes a mess of at least 1, if not 2, lines in the middle.
-
In that Detroit game, Rasmussen took a Bogosian shot off the knee in the 1st and did not return. Looked very painful. No word on if he'll miss any additional time.
-
Can't put Cozens there. Kills the 2nd line. Would put Quinn there. At least to try it for a couple of games. Expecting it'll be Mittelstadt.
-
Playoffs? Heck, am hoping he's back next weekend.
-
Wouldn't be surprised to see him dress ahead of Asplund either.
-
You'd have to ask Inky or Ogre what they were for. They usually wear them once per year.
-
The ones not wearing reverse Habs sweaters.
-
We shall see, but would be surprised if this news changes Adams strategy for the next 6 days.
-
Don't understand your Q. Hinostroza doesn't have to go through waivers again unless he plays in 10 more Sabres games or is on the roster for 30 more days. Waivers aren't a factor in deciding who to bring up with Tuch hurt.
-
That's the hope. We shall see.
-
Expect there's a good chance of it.

Game in hand, game. ;) But right now, St. Louis might be the worst team in the league. That it took Pittsburgh until there were less than 6 minutes left in the game to go up is encouraging. [edit: and it turns out Pittsburgh needed OT to win it as the Blues tied it back up in regulation.]
