  1. Most likely by buying a sweater and separately buying a patch and then going to a shop that does embroidery such as Broadway Knitting Mills.
  2. With not seeing the vouchers, would expect the vouchers are for free parking in the Illinois St garage. Are the tix in the 200's or the suites? If so, would expect the guess is better than if they aren't. Has he asked his boss what the vouchers are for?
  3. 6 more days?!?!? Arrrrrrrrggggggghhhhhhh! 😜
  4. That's fine that he wants to cut off rushes before they happen. But, like @LTS says, they aren't going to be able to always do that and they need to be able to keep from looking like Ristolainen and Eichel feeding off each other when the puck does end up in their end. If Granato is not willing/able to coach them for that aspect and/or is unwilling to bring in assistants that can/will do that; his tenure will be shorter than we might be expecting. He doesn't need to become Trotz or Tortorella, but he can't become Jack Pardee coaching the Eulers in the early '90's who didn't keep a tight end on the roster because the Run and Shoot didn't use a TE even though they became very ineffective in the Red Zone because the tiny fast WRs couldn't run away from the coverage because there was nowhere to run away to. That stubborness eventually cost him his job.
  5. Plus, he's performed pretty well for Hockey Canada in the past. Would expect they're keeping him in the loop with access to some guys that have "been there, done that" too should he ask for it.
  6. That goes doubly for their annual sport team valuations. Their clue into the NFL is the Packers being publicly owned and for the NHL they basically make overall HRR public (indirectly, the cap is baed off that and you can back calculate it out to a reasonable degree). For NBA and MLB expect there is even less "real" data to go on. But data on variations in revenues between teams is pretty limited. The best way to value the teams is to see what one sells for and go from there.
  7. Faaaaaaccccccckkk!
  8. He could be right. Doubt he is, but this could be the Sabres take a small step back season before really flying into the fray next year. Still say this team is good for 103.
  9. Some excellent questions. Suspect that it's some combination of his own history of winning a Cup with a journeyman and a rookie (not necessarily in that order) and analytics still not having of much predicative value for goalies. But that's just an educated guess.
  10. That's tragic. Htf do the kids not want the old man's Sabrejak? It's not like it's a bowling shirt that obviously is Goodwill bound.
  11. Out of curiosity, where did you find preseason stats? Saw individual game recaps that the numbers could be parsed from, but didn't see any sites that had them compiled. (Didn't look hard for them, but did a quick search and didn't see them.)
  12. Could be. But which of those 6 that Inky has listed ahead of him gets bumped to play him? Stillman is an NHL caliber D man and Clague is a true tweener. Johnson and Novikov will be playing every night because much to Amerks fans chagrin, the A is a developmental league 1st and foremost and those are the 2 prize D prospects. Cecconi was the only D-man that knew what his side of the blue line looked like some nights, and Metsa is probably going to get a lot of ice time himself from the propsect perspective. Guess Cecconi could be odd man out, but as the only defensive true AHLer, maybe not. Prow was leaned on last year. But could see scenarios where he's literally 7th on the depth chart many nights. Which makes Davies 8th.
  13. He's very experienced in the system that McDermott runs (having played it for years in Carolina). He's only being brought to the practice squad. Until we see him lining up for real snaps am hoping that he's here to help guys like Elam and the PS guys to get up to speed quicker and to help any other adds to the PS to get up to speed quicker. Aka, see him as a player coach more than an answer as a player. (That's the hope at least.)
  14. Quite the coup by Penney's to be the sole supplier. It seemed every kid playing organized hockey and most of their parents wore one back in the day.
  15. And this is one more contract that Adams seems to have gotten right. He seems on the right track with so much of what the team needs to do to be a true contender; which makes the GTing circus soooo frustrating.
  16. When @tom webster started this thread and it looked like $80 over 8 was going to be the contract, said that was $2/yr less than this kid expected for the full 8 years. (Thought they'd've had to drop to 7 years to get the AAV down to $10.5 or $11. This is a very good deal for the Sabres, and considering that Dahlin seems to like it here and also really seems to want to win, would say it's a very good deal for him too. Tip of the hat to TW. It took longer than expected, but he nailed the term and was within 10% of the the final $'s. Way closer than many of the so called "experts" were. (Looking your way Mr. Peters. 😉 )
  17. He's only 18, so people won't believe it until he's gone over and above, so to speak. 😜
  18. You stated that much more politely than many here would've. 🍻
  19. In your binary world, there may only be 2 answers. 😜 But, in the future, should you hope to have a person ignore a question you pose, probably shouldn't pose the question in a post responding to the other poster. Just sayin'. 😉
  20. Yuck. But at least he knows the system. Would rather have Wallace back if the Stillers aren't outrageous in a potential ask for him.
  21. Nice that it's official. But pretty sure it was defacto official the moment both Biro and Rousek got demoted. 😉
  22. The answer would likely vary for many depending upon whether they were asked that question prior to the last draft (or even at the trade deadline) or now that we've seen what he could be. There is no way ANYBODY (including the Sabres brass, considering how many times they attempted to move up) expected Benson to be available at 13. And given he was available at 13, might he have been available at 17? OR if he would only make it to 13, would the Sabres (with or without a 1st rounder, which presumably went in the package to get the player that pushed them over the edge but not necessarily) have been able to come up with a package good enough to get up to 13. (The Sabres would've been drafting 17 had they been able to keep their 1st rounder and ended up the last seed in the dance while getting eliminted in the 1st or 2nd round.) Considering how that draft went, it isn't absolutely impossible that both items (Sabres making the playoffs AND landing Benson) occurred in that alternative reality.
  23. Amazing what a difference a year can make. Prow got a lot of ice time last year and he's a spare part now.
  24. Wow. Good news for you. Scheifele not overly surprised with. Did NOT see a Hellebucyk extension. Guess that significantly changes the calculus about what extent of a rebuild/retool is necesary in the near future.
