  1. If that was said I would agree with you. But it wasn’t. 🤷🏻 Now 1 year 2 years
  2. Ready now means this season. Ready in one year means next season. Ready in two years means two seasons from now.
  3. It seems as though I’ve estimated you.
  4. Can we please stop with the movie talk. It’s a colossal waste of peoples time who are looking for updates and seeing this conversation.
  5. There was a study on Central scouting ranking. They say central scouting does very well through the first 2 to 3 rounds and then teams do better in rounds four through seven.
  6. At the trade deadline it’s best to trade people in the summer because you get a better return. In the summer it’s better to trade people at the trade deadline because you get a better return. Hopium. It’s an incredible drug.
  7. Oh does it? So Eric Staal is worth a number 2 draft choice in a trade?
  8. Why I would you expect future draft picks to be equal to a draft pick made seven years ago?
  9. Would Adams then be criticized for not being serious about players wanting to be there? if I have a crystal ball, obviously your scenario is better, assuming he doesn’t blow out a knee. more time with better players on your team is obviously better. however, I honestly think this type of deal is the easiest part of a GM job. You ask a lot, field offers and take the best one. You don’t need to be a message boards savant to pick the best one. However, there’s this continuous IV of Hopium, where fans assert in every scenario, that magically always states that what’s behind door number three is always 10 times better than what actually occurred and it’s just the stupidity of everyone involved is the reason why they can’t see it.
  10. That’s fine. But let’s not pretend this conversation would be any different seven months from now if the best offer was similar.
  11. There is always the implication when characterizing a trade using those words that the team trading did something wrong. I don’t think that’s the case. If the offers aren’t there, they aren’t there. Sometimes they are.
  12. It didn’t? Are you saying we would have gotten the same if Risto had 4 years left?
  13. The latter may be the case. But until he does, it is one years worth of Sam. That drives down the return considerably.
  14. It would be healthier if fans phrase this as “one year of Sam” is worth…
  15. Why do people continuously assert that Adams is the person that dictates the return? Teams had all summer to put their best foot forward on one year of Sam. This is a culmination of those offers. his only other choice is to wait and hope the offers get better.
  16. To 23. A couple spots below someone’s subjective ranking. This isn’t the NFL draft.
  17. Yes. It. Is. all I said is that it is what teams are apparently offering. I said nothing about having to trade him.
  18. The other side of this coin is that is what other teams are offering. Are you talking about the guy that agreed to an eight year extension?
  19. This is exactly it and what I was about to post. I’m glad people understand that there’s a huge difference between the value of Sam and the value of Sam on his current contract.
  20. Levi put on a spectacular performance for Canada East at the World Junior A Challenge as they took home silver. Plenty of agility and great tracking, Levi offers a ton of promise combined with highlight reels. Levi moves and reads the game well, offering up plenty of speed when staying on top of the play. -EliteProspects 2020 NHL Draft Guide
  21. Is the thought here that because he is the GM that this is some sort of unilateral decision, or is there any level of acceptance that this is a group decision?
  22. I think this is a guy Adams wanted all along. This fits his quote where he said he didn’t want someone necessarily ready for next year, but they would be the player they wanted in the future.
