  1. Which is it? Five or 10? I wanna know what I’m getting into before I start.
  2. Someone should have offered one.
  3. You sound nice.
  4. Could be gas. What did you have for dinner?
  5. To be fair, almost no one was very good. I don’t really remember much of his game, but he put a few points up every season. Somewhere around 20 is how it averages out.
  6. As a refresher: Caggiula led the University of North Dakota to the NCAA championship in 2016 and was named the most outstanding player at the Frozen Four after scoring four goals with one assist in two games. Two of those goals came in the third period of North Dakota's 5-1 victory against Quinnipiac in the title game. That was the exclamation point on a season when Caggiula had 25 goals (fifth most nationally) and 51 points (eighth) in 39 games. So it was no surprise that several NHL teams pursued Caggiula once he had finished his senior year and was able to field contract offers.
  7. Wow. Good for him.
  8. This is where I can find edicts about belt-tightening to believable. It may come from ownership, not Adams. I have no control over either, so I tend to stay neutral until something concrete happens. I really do see sports as a source of enjoyment and I try not to get caught up in the negativity. Too many real things to be angry about.
  9. I wouldn't agree with what you said either. We have the option to trade Jack (for whatever best offer is given) or not. What we DON'T have, and that many argumentative fans insist, is that Jack has to be traded and we "could have had" players x/y/z and picks a/b/c because someone says so in their own mind. And because they say so in their own mind, someone else is therefore incompetent. I don't do the latter.
  10. I tend not to get upset at the state of team or about various transactions. I also rarely provide scenarios. It's not my thing. I also think, as I mentioned it before, that a trade can fail to meet expectations without someone being incompetent or that they need to be fired.
  11. From our stand point, they don't. We also don't know what they know. Lehner was garbage until we found out what we didn't know. I'm open to the idea that others have more information than I do.
  12. I think past trades help inform expectations, but every situation is unique. YOU may decide his neck doesn't matter. But it is the other GMs that count. We have a flat cap year. Circumstances change. Not a year goes by where people don't think about the first given for Paul Gausted. I never expect that to be repeated. Others are apocalyptic when it doesn't happen (see Taylor Hall).
  13. It's no secret that I don't care for straw man arguments. I don't like making up a scenario and then criticizing someone for not taking action on my personal hockey fantasies. I think trades are much more about the buyer than the seller. People know he is on the block and they know the ask. There isn't much Adams needs to do after that.
  14. That's fine. I think it is instructive to get out of your own bubble. There are a lot of people here thinking the return will be low. Then an uniformed Puck Daddy will have been essentially right in the broad scheme of things.
  15. As a savers fan who knows the inner workings of the team, you are ready to riot over the details. My wife wants a nice car and she wants the Alfa Romeo Giulia. She doesn’t know that the reliability sucks. But when she says that’s what she wants, I know it means she doesn’t want a Honda accord, nor does she want an Aston Martin. I would say the detail of his suggestion isn’t important so much as the overall quality.
  16. I think he is still a legit hockey personality that gives us a 3rd party perspective of what others think of Eichel.
  17. I have never seen the both of them in the same room
  18. There is a whole topic on NFL trades. Maybe the other one just needs to be closed.
  19. MAF trade isn't free agency news.
  20. That thread was going to made 3x by different posters within seconds of the news. I hope no one expects me or anyone else to keep refreshing a thread all day, every day in order to keep this thing clean.
  21. A 190 pounds center will get killed by those heavy defensive lineman. I don’t know what the Bills were thinking.
  22. Fusion surgery at age 24 is insane. Adjacent disk disease is a certainty in his future in that case. And it’s not an experimental surgery, although it may be experimental in terms of resuming playing hockey. They’ve been performing the surgery in Europe for decades.
  23. Any place that lacks the basic need of water to live ranks high on my places to go.
