  1. Nobody really knows. Few tangible assets have been identified.
  2. Darcy was the first person I heard say that draft picks were the modern day currency of the NHL.
  3. You should probably look at the title of this topic.
  4. So, this is used quite often in political characterizations. It’s already happened.
  5. I will keep that in mind. 😂
  6. I am not sure of my legal responsibilities in reporting an eminent murder.
  7. Have you tried having a mind like a 13-year-old? It works for me. 🤷🏻
  8. A key phrase and how Adams thinks is win speaking about the Taylor Hall trade he use the words “Taylor earned the right…“ he doesn’t seem to be the type that says “yeah we may have agreed to this, but this is the way I’m going around this to screw you anyway“
  9. I mean I don’t think he is the type to say screw you Taylor Hall, the return isn’t good enough, you can sit and rot for the rest of the season for all I care. Likewise, I don’t think he’ll put the screws to an unhappy Jack Eichel to maximize the return. I think he will be a guy that is looking for fairness to all parties involved.
  10. I’m not sure if this answers your question the way you were expecting, but here’s a point that I think it’s worthwhile that no one discusses… I think Adams is a former player and not the hardnose GM that some people crave. I think he’ll treat players the way he thinks players want to be treated. We saw this in his treatment of Taylor Hall. if true, this is obviously a double edge sword. The hope is that people see this team as a place where players get treated fairly and therefore would want to join, but in return that means we’re not putting the screws to everyone and everything in order to maximize outcomes.
  11. I think the implication is different. It’s not the Sabres performance with or without Eichel, but it is with Eichel or substitute some other equivalent talent with better perceived leadership skills. if you remove a teams best player, it should go without saying that a team with a worse roster will fare worse than a team with a better supporting cast. Which exactly makes my point.
  12. Leading the way and lifting all boats are those touchy-feely phrases that sounds good coming from TV analysts, but have no meaning in reality. When can easily make a case why Mario Lemieux’s linemate is better with him than without him. That becomes orders of magnitude harder in explaining the affect on performance of the third line left winger.
  13. I have no issues with that caveat. I really wasn’t thinking about goalies, only people that can affect the ice 20 minutes per game.
  14. A player “leading his team to the playoffs“ is one of the biggest piles of doggie doo fan fiction out there. Hockey isn’t basketball. A single player, not even the greatest talent in the league, can’t do that by themselves.
  15. Raty goes #52. 😳
  16. For comparison, Jhonas Enroth was 5‘ 10 and 175 pounds.
  17. This is neither the topic, nor is this the place to relitigate this. Let’s move on.
  18. So you think this happened in a vacuum? That Adams did not bring this to the other hockey people in the organization to gather their thoughts? He just sat in a room and decided this on his own?
  19. Although he moved to wing in recent years, couldn’t Girgensons fill the fourth line spot?
  20. This is not without risk you know. Although he is a durable player, they do get injured.
