  1. Past hour
  2. No camp fires allowed here now, so I will keep this tid-bit in my back pocket and put away the blow torch.
  3. I'm not @Taro T, but sometimes I play one on TV ... my answer is YES !!
  4. Another OT Rangers win.. SDS did Y'all a favor by shutting this place down, I've since become less annoyed by the win. Good hockey though for sure! Unlike that western conference atrocity šŸ˜‰
  5. I understand your fear šŸ˜† Still early in both series. Let them play out.
  6. Good tournament with some upsets. And the host nation winningā€¦. Icing.
  7. Today
  8. Komarov with PP assists yesterday but Drummondville lose to Saginaw 4-3. They are 0-2 so their game vs Moose Jaw could determine who gets into the playoffs. Moose Jaw 0-1 face London today.
  9. Congratulations to the host Czechs on their gold medal. Great country!
  10. Yikes..Rangers looking good. Getting scoring from every line and Florida seems to be relying far too much on one line. Sure hate the thought of a Rangers/Oilers final...
  11. Yesterday
  12. Any team with Kyle Okposo playing a regular shift, doesnā€™t have ā€œitā€, whatever that means. The guy was an overpaid bum from day 1.
  13. He picked up lot of useful players in the early years that helped get them competitive. Jim Lorentz was another steal, got him in trade for a draft pick that never played.
  14. Imlach certainly knew how to evaluate talent though and he had a way of finding diamonds in the rough. I mean, the greatest trade in history maybe Robert for Shack.
  15. Oilers really going to the paint and even crashing into Ottinger on numerous occasions. Refs seemed fine with it which was odd given some of the calls in the eastern games. I think we see in this year's playoffs that the good coaches have learned how to play D in this new NHL. I hope the Sabres are watching.
  16. 50/50. Kind of like on the Sabres. Looked good providing some offense, but also some mistakes in his own zone that cost them. I guess he comes out sort of even.
  17. If you have an opportunity to see Gary Clark Jr play, go. Saw him this evening at Artparkā€™s indoor venue. His past is very blues-centric, but his more recent work is leaning R&B. He still infuses every song with fantastic bluesy guitar work. His guitar work is top notch and heā€™s an excellent vocalist. And the backing band was super solid. The band was tight. Heā€™s pretty much a stand in front of the microphone and play/sing performer. Heā€™s not the most energetic guy on stage, but definitely puts a ton of energy into the music. A few songs in his guitar died. He said into the microphone ā€œI think I broke itā€, put it down, grabbed the mike out of the stand and said ā€œI guess I am a lead singer nowā€ and moved on with the song and the set without skipping a beat. And he worked the stage and crowd like any good frontman would. He could readily transition into a singer/frontman and be excellent doing it. The technicians fixed his problem after a couple of songs and he moved right back into guitar/lyrics behind the mike and completed a terrific show. Dude impressed me with his professionalism and polish.
  18. Yeah, I think when Dallas got going, they had wayyyy more high danger chances and the Oil kinda just mucked around with twirls and passes and almost everything was blocked. The first 10 minutes was an Edmonton flurry, I think they may have worn down a bit quick because of that 1st period.
  19. The wind is really blowing so I pulled up the weather map. There's a tornado about 20 miles north of my son's place. That's far enough away that I'm not too worried, but man people just south of the Red River are having a bad time tonight. I'm at the blue dot, my son lives in Plano. Interesting that McKinney is in a bigger font than Plano since Plano has almost 3x the population. (Plano, TX, has more people than Buffalo, NY.)
  20. It seemed to me that Dallas was playing a tight defense and was also dangerous on the counterstrike. Edmonton was desperate in their defense of those counterstrikes. I dunno, in baseball some people like homerun derbies and some like pitchers' duels. Different strokes.
  21. He was HC in Columbus for a year and a half.
  22. Apparently lighter fluid and gasoline have different flashpoints for those out of the loop trying to start a camp fire.
  23. I mean there were some hits, for sure. But the overall flow of the game was choppy at best, McDavid is trying to skate through a trap almost every time he touches the puck (sure that's a great plan) but still makes it a boring game. Just comparing to the Rags/Panthers, it's not even in the same stratosphere of enjoyable hockey (to me at least) But if you enjoyed it, my opinion doesn't matter much lol.
  24. I couldn't force myself to watch the third.
  25. Very intense though. You don't see two opposing players pass each other without contact.
