  1. Past hour
  2. I’ve got an old hat on. If Jobst gets one more, I’m leaving on the ice in Syracuse.
  3. Jobst #2! 3-0!! The Crunch are being let down by goaltending. They were playing a good game.
  4. Today
  5. How do you know what he wants to get paid and why do you think someone will pay him that? His numbers away from Dahlin are similar to awful young players like Jake Sanderson and Moritz Seider. And if you really believe defencemen never get better after 246 NHL games, or after they turn 23 — or that NHL professionals don't thoroughly scout the players they acquire before pulling the trigger — I don't know what to tell you.
  6. Yesterday
  7. If a sellout is 6600, I bet they’ve got 5,200. A ton of Amerks fans are here though…they’ve got the Lee-Vi and Let’s Go Amerks chants going.
  8. You're seeing a great game. How many would you say are in the building?
  9. He wants to get paid like a top line guy but is not a top line guy and will never be a top line guy (the fact that his numbers are awful when not paired with Dahlin pretty much prove this). Trading him to fix a roster hole before everyone else in the league catches onto this fact is such an obvious move.
  10. Didn’t they spend to the cap every year right up to the purge of 2021? Or am I misremembering that?
  11. Yep, especially when you’re paying $7M to Samuelsson and Clifton. That’s where the roster construction flaw is, not with Byram. That’s what I hope they can target.
  12. Yeah, doing a little research and a quick conversation leads to the position that things have changed dramatically in the last 15 years. I was told Florida made about $25m from their Cup run. I was mistaken.
  13. Just play the Mobland theme song... "It may feel bad It may feel bad It may feel bad I wanna see you alone, I wanna sharp the stone I wanna bounce the bone, I wanna mess with it I wanna lay the deville, the whole crew on the sill I want the preacher and pill, I wanna bless with it I wanna head to a mass and get cast in it That sh*t's funnier than any A-class, in' it? I wanna talk with the clown who has apologies down Pay him 300 pound to take a class in it I wanna bite the phone, I wanna bleed the tone I wanna see you alone, alone, alone, 'lone I wanna strait the shark and find me somewhere to park. Like the light when it's dark, it's dark, it's dark, dark A few stars about make it feel like peace in a way A complimentary round Constellation got a twist in it For a GPO and all the hits in it I'm gon' hit your business if it's momentary blissness I'm gon' hit your business if it's momentary blissness I'm gon' hit your business if it's momentary blissness I'm gon' hit your business if it's momentary" https://youtu.be/2fkd2Lco3nY?si=ridEe0HPf-n8GkWY
  14. All players take a pay cut to play in the post season. They get bonus money based upon how far they make it in the playoffs (losers of round 1 get significantly less than those that get to hoist Lord Stanley's Chalice). Want to say how much they end up getting is determined by overall playoff revenue but it's been a long time since looking at that portion of the CBA; could be off on that.
  15. “NHL teams also pocket 65% of postseason revenue, which is significantly higher than the other leagues. Based on the other streams of revenue, they need a high percentage in order to make money.” https://thehockeywriters.com/how-do-nhl-teams-make-money/?utm_source=chatgpt.com Face value of Stanley Cup Finals in EDM last year was over $500/ea. That’s $9m in ticket revenue alone. Per game. Not including parking and HRR. I can’t imagine the cost to host is more than $1m per game.
  16. Definitely concerned about the Cruch taking liberties with our heavy skill laden lineup. Disappointed in Brett Murray this series. He has not been throwing the body around, not that it was expected but when your team is a high skill little braun lineup, as a large man you need to step up. Shameful to be honest.
  17. It's something long-standing teams PR staffs and sportswriters do to show how much history their franchise has. The 38th coach in our storied and amazing history! Sometimes it can backfire (like if it's also happens to be the 15th coach since 2000).
  18. They haven't tried spending to the cap,... or digging another well.
  19. Well, this would at least explain Terry’s disdain for the playoffs. In addition, there’s probably some truth in a Cup not increasing the value of a franchise. This is probably true for most large markets. For example, I don’t think the value of the Leafs would increase if they win another championship.
  20. I generally agree with you, and I suppose if there was a way to keep Byram and still add a top 4 RD defensive stalwart to balance out the puck movers, that would be fine. Seems to me it's going to be tough to keep both Byram and Power, and make that happen.
  21. Is the 38th head coach thing significant, or do writers just put it that way cuz they are trying to appear like they know more stuff than us.
  22. The real question now is how the ticket revenue is split. I’ll have to do some digging. I’m pretty sure in the finals most of it goes to the league.
  23. Yes, we should judge every player solely by their most difficult 7-game stretch. And the Buffalo Sabres need to get rid of every player who is incapable of replacing Rasmus Dahlin and add a bunch who are. It’s really that simple.
  24. Correct, but some of course make money with endorsements as their profile rises from playoffs. The owners make a boatload of cash though. Playoff revenue plus massive amounts of merchandise and then usually increased season ticket sales for the next year. Just getting in the playoffs makes teams a lot of money.
