  1. Past hour
  2. I'll take choice number one, number three, or number five.
  3. How would you even know this? The only thing you know about what you don’t know is that you are afraid of it.
  4. Two people picked patience. That’s hilarious. I bet I could guess who they are.
  5. The Sabres aren’t moving! JFC! We been hearing this for 2 decades as justification to accept a crap team. It’s old.
  6. 1. New leadership in the ownership - Terry can still own the team, but someone else in the family needs to be calling the shots 2. New front office - new GM and a real director of hockey opps 3. An entirely new coaching staff 4. new players - start in goal. Need a playmaker in the top 6 and a top 4 defensive D. A cattle prod won’t hurt either.
  7. Expect a really and futile and stupid gesture tonight. And I'll apologize in advance for what's about to happen to Östlund's brother's car.
  8. Scene: The year is 1775. King George is a tyrant and colonist are suffering under his rule. There is no hope in sight as more and more oppressive measures are being put in place to limit the colonists ability to thrive and succeed. “First and foremost I’m loyal to the crown. Without them we wouldn’t even be here. Sure it’s bad now, but could you imagine if the British left?”
  9. Really going out on a limb, there, eh.
  10. That's how I feel. Especially in their barn That was my thought too. Then I had another thought: Norris is going to emerge as the leader of the room. Sure, the Sabres whooped up on the Jets a couple games ago, but the Sabres are coming off a game where they got drubbed themselves. Norris will be the guy that says, "No. This stops at one loss." The role of Stork will be played by Tage Thompson
  11. It’s not a loss. Ingram hasn’t dressed on game day in a month. His season stat line is five tackles. He couldn’t beat out Cam Lewis or Taron Johnson, and he’s never going to play over Max, Tre, or CB. It really is kind of a nothing burger.
  12. If one of the kids was committed to the task, is smart enough to hire proven hockey people to run the franchise, and strong enough to resist interference by their father, I’d go with the kid.
  13. Today
  14. The Bills signed Slay and Cut Ingram. Ingram picked up by Houston. Slay is now going to retire. Bills now down a cornerback.
  15. Tonight's game will be interesting. Expecting UPL to get the start. Which will only be his 4th game on the road and only his 3rd start on the road. Both of the road starts, his SV% was well south of 0.850. In the Avs game, he only gave up 3 on 30 shots. Overall, he's 4-1-0 at home and 0-2-1 on the road. The Sabres as a whole tend not to play well on the road (well, no Schlitz, Sherlock). And just as they've fared slightly better at home with him bettween the pipes vs the outcomes with other 2 goalies, they've fared slightly worse on the road with him between the pipes vs the other 2 goalies. This is a game that will go a long way towards either showing the people that believe he is the best of the 3 (some even saying CLEARLY the best) are right or that those that believe he's at best in the mix with the other 2 and likely worse than either are right. Hoping for his and our sakes that those that believe he IS good (and not just that he may be good in the proper circumstances) are the ones that are correct. And if they shy away from giving him the start, that could be telling in itself as well.
  16. Ziemer with a PPG and an ENG in the Gophers' opening matchup with the Ohio State Nuts. Badger freshman Vasily Zelenov had 3 assists in last week's 2-game set vs. the Michigan St. Spartans. He'll miss the final series of the fall semester vs. Notre Dame because he's in Slovenia participating in Team Austria's prep tourney for the World Junior Championships later this month.
  17. I'd rather have new owners who might move the team than another 15yrs of Pegula ***** around.
  18. No they aren't. They are getting time in the top 6 because they are good enough, not because some other mythical player is not.
  19. I believe TP relinquishing control of the ownership to his kid(s)and stepping away from his role as “POHO” will just energize the entire organization and fan base. The follow up moves by the new owner(s) are what will give this jolt staying power (not a pun, Power may have to go). They do not know more about hockey than the pros so step back and let these guys do their thing. Hire a true POHO and let that person rebuild from the front office down to the bench. No one should be safe, this is real accountability. Terry cannot step in and save uncle Jerry and Howdy Doody.
  20. This is a good game for the Sabres. So rarely does a team want (and need, in the standings) to avenge a loss against the Sabres. The Jets had a closed-door meeting because they were embarrassed by the Sabres on Monday. They will play the first period at playoff intensity. I look forward to seeing how the Sabres respond. Historically, these past 14 years, when a team has increased their intensity --- Florida and Boston have had a gear the Sabres could not match --- the Sabres have wilted. You want to make the playoffs, you don't wilt. Doan, Zucker, and Benson need to show leadership and drag the high-priced guys into it. And whichever goalie is in needs to make 2-3 big saves tonight.
  21. There is a lot to like about Benson's game. I was trying to say that Doan and Benson are not problems, but they are getting opportunities on the top 6 because the other players on this roster are not consistently good enough. I do think that Benson must improve his shot. A faster release and more speed on the shot - both can be improved with practice. The issues I have is this teams are: this GM/FO has expired, the coaching staff is not good enough, the goaltending, the inconsistent play from the top 6 forwards, and the leadership from the Core players. That is a long list. They need to be fixed in the order listed.
  22. That's how I feel. Especially in their barn
  23. The obvious move is a new owner. OR, he steps away from Hockey Operations entirely. I prefer he sells the team to group committed to Buffalo. Every move that Terry has made has been the wrong one. From Terry's very first and extremely obnoxious press conference displaying his brash overconfidence, and crying in front of Alumni, to his constant hiring of buddies and unproven people that he can influence. From losing on purpose to putting his wife in charge of a hockey team that just tanked and needed experienced FO help in the worst way. From casting away NHL All Star level players, to his 180 degree flip to "Economic, Efficient, and Effective". Hiring a soccer coach. Hiring a GM with no Hockey Operations experience. The worst part is that Terry Pegula quit on us and he settles for losing. He has poisoned the culture and disgraced the crest. He hides from the hockey fan base. Flies to Montreal, give a "pep talk", the team skips practice and gets trounced - another season ruined. His worst offense is hiding from the fan base and doing nothing to fix the mess. Need I remind everyone that last season the Boston Bruins finished 3 points below the Sabres and last in the conference with a -50 goal Diff. Their owner sent a apology letter to his season ticket holders with a commitment to improve. The Boston Bruins do not have a better or more talented roster than the Sabres. Yet they are right now 2nd in the Conference and the Sabres have dropped to last. It starts at the top. I believe the "rumor" that Terry told Brendan Shanahan he was the teams POHO. The Sabres will never win with Pegula running the team they way he does. He needs to stop pretending he is a hockey guy and let a proven hockey guy run things, and give him all the resources that he pledged to us. Drill another well Terry.
