  1. Past hour
  2. Do not doubt this at all, but I think Terry at least allows Ruff to weigh in on strategy and decisions. Behind both of them is Adams doing whatever they want to keep himself clean. Agree that Terry loves having a guy out in front taking arrows who doesn't mind so long as he keeps his job.
  3. His agent will think so. I'm not gonna say byram is not worth 7m on the open market...but he's not worth 7m on this team based on what we already have wrapped up financially on D.
  4. Every year we add the right kind of players…..for Roch! why have never added this player to our nhl roster?!
  5. Ok, this is a good signing , what's up with that?
  6. Even if we make a big splash move it will be at the expense of Byram, so we will be where we were with Peterka but then the defense will then be another leaky faucet once again and It's the blind leading the blind over there.
  7. Why? Nedeljkovic is a worse goalie and only 3yrs younger?
  8. I’ve been thinking the same thing. As their styles, which are extremely ordinary in the NHL, are somewhat foreign to our group of snipers and danglers, will stand out amongst the passengers. They are engaged, intense and willing to do what is necessary to win.
  9. So, right now per puckpedia they've got just under $14MM of cap space with just Byram, Timmons, and Levi left to sign. Presuming Byram is still a Sabre this fall, depending upon length of his deal that would eat $6-8MM of that. Expect Levi will cost ~$2MM, maybe less, but for sake of argument, let's say $2MM. Timmons comes in at ~$1MM. Leaving them barring any other moves at $3-$5MM of space. If they could send Samuelsson out the door for picks, they'd have ~$7-9MM in space. Figure they'd want to keep $1-2MM to allow for a deadline acquisition. But having nearly $8MM available would still allow for a couple of good players to be brought in or 1 really good player to be brought it. Use that space, and the Sabres COULD be better than they were. Right now, they're probably better, but not materially on paper.
  10. I mean they finally have a bottom six homegrown player who fills a role they need. I doubt any coach would have a problem with Kozak in their lineup. I wish he was a tad bigger but he’s no midget.
  11. At this point keep him, sign Ehler’s, let the rookies in Rochester battle for a spot and for god sakes Adams, get Benson on a ribeye and pasta regimen. Let’s roll!!!
  12. He was always an all-out effort guy in EDM. His numbers were lower because he wasn't asked to do as much offensively. I suspect last season set a reasonable expectation going forward and if he's surrounded correctly, 45-55 points is what he'll provide.
  13. This is a Lindy signing, little doubt.
  14. Happy Canada Day guys and gals, hope it was a great day for everyone…..well, except the Maple Leafs.
  15. Civics are reliable.
  16. I like him since he plays 200 feet very hard. The min. contract is fine. Want to see more. Did not do badly in limited minutes.
  17. Everybody else gets shiny, new Ferrari’s and we’re stuck with a Gremlin, Chevette and a few Civics!
  18. Yet Kevyn Adams may still keep his job regardless….failure is secondary to loyalty with our lame owner.
  19. This is the type of deal (the original trade) that remains our hope after the slow start to the offseason. We can split hairs in either direction all day but the roster as constructed more less seems to have been either tweaked at the fringes (Lyon/Reimer, Timmins/Clifton, Danforth/Lafferty) or likely downgraded in talent (Peterka/Kesselring+Doan). We can argue for “identity” upgrade with the later deal but realistically, smart money says an about break-even roster, aptitude wise, is where we sit, provided the Peterka deal doesn’t backfire too badly. I was hoping for picks for vets deals, even/especially high picks (looking at 9)…prospects for vets. Haven’t seen those yet. But, as mentioned the McLeod deal represents a template for what could still come - didn’t arrive till July 5 last year im not sure we’ll see a noted “upgrade” should we move Byram, if we move Byram failing something McLeod-esque…I mean right now it does set up nicely as more less “more of the same Sabres”
  20. Interesting pickup. Has Jarmo all over it lafferty was forgettable, interested in giving him a shot Guys with his size and track record don’t get contracts unless they have a lot of heart. Undrafted, played handful of games for the Amerks.. Europe and khl before NHL at 28 Columbus wanted him back. They gave him an “A” for some time. https://images.app.goo.gl/u5QRLub1sM99hE2d7
  21. Never saw it coming, but they're actually good!
  22. Well you are right and many palm trees all around the stadium!
  23. Less than 7 hours into FA . He's one of the last guys left. Someone will bite, I hope. I'd rather they get it right than blow it.
