  1. Past hour
  2. I haven't renewed and will not consider it until the dust settles from the off-season and training camp has begun.....
  3. I was at a game in April and during a TV time out they were showing a gratitude message on the jumbotron about people who had renewed their tickets and I recall the scrolling list being waaayyyyy longer than I expected considering the state of the team. That being said I have no idea how many people were actually on that list. More than 100, less than 10k.
  4. There is an awful lot of chatter about the Sabres positioning themselves to make moves. The current core wanting to win now report, trade talk, it appears to be getting serious. i can’t say I’m confident yet, but I am interested. Waiting to see how this all plays out. If it looks promising after the dust settles, I may dip my toes back in to the season ticket pool again.
  5. Smith has sublime skating. He has decision making issues but he's got good size and plays physical. He works hard all over the ice and I don't think his offensive game has even scratched the surface. Outside of needing to refine his overall game, there's a ton to like in his package. At 6'4" 199lbs, there's a potential top pairing defender there.
  6. Canalside! Do things ever move quickly in WNY? Aud was demolished over 15 years ago. The front half of the Aud footprint is still a big hole in the ground, and part of the back half is the steel frame of some retail/housing that has sat dormant for a couple of years thanks to a developer with no money(Sinatra) and a NYS agency(ECDHC) that doesn’t have the balls to yank the project away from him. 😡😡😡
  7. [one finger on the monkey's paw curls]
  8. Has anything been made public regarding STH(full, partial & mini) renewal rates for 25-26? Just curious as I don’t know what the Sabres are selling that the STH are buying? Has to be a tough job being in ticket sales for the Sabres.
  9. Quick prospect aside in the draft thread: Osburn has a good opportunity with a very young Badgers squad the next two seasons -- he's their only incoming freshman defenseman this year and his offensive skills should earn him PP time this season, when compared against the returning members of the D-corps. As to NHL talent, their other NHL D prospects are Phelan and Schulz who are definitely not offensive studs.
  10. 100%. But Adams doesn't HAVE to ALWAYS be associated with running the team. He could (dear Lord, PLEASE let this happen) get moved to a position running some other piece of Pegula's empire. Kevyn gets a promotion and we get a reprieve. (At least until we find it is was so that Jerry Forton gets to take over. 😢 )
  11. I think @DarthEbriate is correct to add Johnson and Novikkv to the mix and agree with you on Osburn. The TLDR version is the Sabres are well-balanced in all positions in the pipeline, to the point that position this year is probably irrelevant. I’d take the best player available with size and/or edge and make that the theme of my entire draft. Plenty of that available at 9. And for the record, I would happy if the Sabres decide that is Smith.
  12. It's a matter of trust. Terry took a lot of advice from a lot of people after he bought the club, and I suspect he feels betrayed. These outsiders led him astray. Snakes in the grass. Deceivers. Kevyn has been with him a long time, and seems to be the only person he thinks isn't playing games with him. He's never going to fire the guy, not in any way that fans want. They may "reorganize the front office", but it'll always be in a way that Kevyn is able to save face. As long as Terry owns this team, KA is going to be around.
  13. Osburn is underrated. As long as Buffalo keeps their 2nd and 3rd, they'll have a bunch of lhd options.
  14. Good call. 5 drafts? Sheesh, Ryan Johnson is old. Too old to begin the training. For everyone else keeping score on LSD: Osburn 4th, Geary 6th, Keohane 6th, Panocha 7th, Novikov 6th
  15. Today
  16. And, the FLA experience shows it CAN be done. But you have to have the right person in the driver's seat and more than a little bit of luck. (Had Fasching not kneed that puck into the net in a game that FLA wasn't involved in and that games ends with a Sabres OT victory, then FLA likely misses the playoffs (not positive who'd have the tiebreaker between them and the Aisles with NY having 1 less point as they'd then both have the same points and same ROW). Sadly, the Sabres don't seem to have either. But maybe Jarmo can whisper some magic and this off-season becomes another inflecion point for this franchise.
  17. I just can’t see them hitting rock bottom if Crosby is still on the roster. Completely unrelated to that, I wish he’d be willing to move somewhere else for another chance to win.
  18. Im nervous about Rackell or Rust, Rust has been hurt a ton, and they ride shotgun to Crosby so I wonder if there performance is riding his coat tails. Rust seems a bit injury prone too, but if they can come in and have the Zucker affect im all for it
  19. This is well thought out and might be very true. I still think we aqcuire a pick in the Byram deal and deal 9 for immediate help now, so we could be picking late in the draft, i do think it will be a dman there as well, you are selling me on a left shot d though
  20. Dang. That’s crazy. And some BS if/when it happens.
  21. Here's something I suspect the Sabres are very much aware of even if Sabrespace is not: Owen Power is the only LHD the Sabres have picked in the first 3 rounds of the past 5 drafts. Centre: Kulich, Östlund, Savoie, Wahlberg, Helenius RSW: Quinn, Sardarian, Rosen, Zeimer LSW: Peterka, Bloom, Kisakov, Poltapov, Neuchev, Benson LSD: Power RSD: McCarthy, Strbak, Kleber Goalie: Leinonen That glut you see on the NHL roster? Bryson is a spare part, Dahlin is comfortable on the right, Byram is getting traded and Samuelsson may follow him out the door. If I had to predict their pick, it would be Smith: a big, mobile 2-way D who plays with the edge Lindy says is missing, and is headed to Terry's alma mater. Aitcheson is also in the mix.
  22. Rakell would make the Sabres top six better next year. He’s 32 and has three years left at $5MM. But the wheels start to fall off around this age and he has an 8 team no move.
  23. I would like to see us trade Quinn+ for Rust. I would flank Kulich with Zucker and Rust as line 3. Give Kulich something we never gave Cozens: two solid veteran wingers who can teach how to be a pro.
  24. So the prophesy says. It would be exactly 21 years after they got Crosby. And exactly 21 before that, they got Super Mario.
  25. Its funny Pitts roster is so bad and they have so many guys with no moves or partial no moves. I think id be willing to take a shot at Ryan Graves, as Lindy has coached him before, so if he signed off on it, but only if its Sammy going the other way, dont want 2 crap contracts on the back end
  26. I would not be surprised to here that KA is the first GM Terry hired that didn’t object to “Terry’s way”.
