How about after 7 seasons? The important thing to note is that if somehow Sheevyn returns next season as GM, then Appert is the coach. After a very thorough search and interview process.
-
Mitch Love, Todd Nelson, Glen Gulutzan, Marco Sturm. This shouldn’t be complicated. There are no guarantees. We are not bringing Jim Nill and Peter DeBoer over from Dallas. When Adams and Ruff are gone (and they will be gone barring an unlikely 89 point WC2 finish that gets them multi-year extensions), the Sabres will be moving on to a new unproven GM. Every day that the Sabres don’t try to find their Nill, Cheveldayoff, Brind’Amour, or Carbery, is just a day wasted by putting off the inevitable. Adams is not going to be the first GM in NHL history to finally figure it out after 5 seasons of missing the playoffs with one team.

I think I am just gonna simplify it almost like you said it... We need to draft some skilled Aholes with decent size... You had me at destroy LOL

Karmanos helped build the Sabres analytics department. The analytics department is why Benson and McLeod are here. - Today

Sabres looking for Senior Advisor for Adams and Hockey Department

I wonder how much influence Karmonos has in the Sabre hockey operation? I'm aware that he's the GM of the Amerks but does he also have meaningful influence within the Sabre realm? I'm also aware that he hasn't relocated his residence to western NY. Although I'm sure he does spend a lot of time further north to attend to his responsibilities, does it diminish his influence within the organization? I wonder how things would change if Karmonos was elevated to the GM position that KA currently has with KA moving to a more ceremonial position as an overseer of the operation. Just curious. -
GDT: Calder Cup QF: Amerks (0-1) vs Rocket, Gm2: Fri May 16 7p

The Amerks finished with 4th best record despite having one of the youngest rosters in the AHL. Teams like Hershey and Laval are more veteran heavy. -

Dhane Smith NLL OPoY. But Saskatchewan has two players with post season awards, including goalie of the year. https://share.google/IilkgESjvH8cOEqen It's going to be tough having both the Amerks and Bandits playing at the same time tonight. -
Very interesting article! I just finished reading an article about the Caps season and how they surprised so many people--themselves included--by doing so well. The Caps did it with a coach who was not an inside guy at all, Spencer Carbury. He seems like a great coach and he sure got great results. Tocchet is one of the Orange Boys for sure. Reminds me of the Sabres going with Ruff, in a way. What the article above takes umbrage with is the timeline on winning. Brier and Jones want to win now but the author thinks the Flyers are years away from competing seriously. The Flyers, like many teams, don't have a good goalie. The Caps found two good goalies somehow so maybe they Flyers do also, but I agree with the writer that Tochett is probably the wrong way to go. Brier went with someone he knows. I like our Sabres situation more than the Flyers situation. If this is Ruff's last season I sure hope we reach out to a Carbury type rather than a Tochett type of coach. But, Brindamour is an inside guy, and has his team playing super great.

As Cam Robinson from EP wrote, "Brady Martin has one gear and it's the destroy the world gear." I'm not convinced he's the most skilled player and his skating is ... fine but he's physically involved everywhere and his pace is nightmarish. The U18s he simply overwhelmed everyone in his path. That said... I still prefer Bear. Bear has less hitting but more skill imo.
-
I fully agree we've needed more A-holes for years now. Benson, Ziemer, Helenius have some of that jam. Bear and Martin would be the 2 at 9 that fit the mold. Or... you risk it all on McQueen who is also physical and 6'5"
-
You'd have to keep it in that 9.3 range so... 8.5 x6 years. I think you might be able to trade for him which is probably preferable... or he could be unavailable entirely.
-
Dude again i just want some skill combined with the nasty... if he is the guy then ok get him. You didn't steer me wrong on Helenius so go get him... But enough of drafting smallish skilled players or size just for size (Power, Muel etc...) we need an attitude adjustment on this team . And if he is your guy and you know it and you have to move up with a player or pick to do it... then do it ... and i have little faith he will do it unfortunately Nice profile on him BTW thanks for that

How did Dallas end up with the power play after that haha

Jamie Benn is a scumbag

Dallas Winnipeg is getting spicy

Serious question. What makes you think the timid and weak GM we have would ever dare attempt to give an offer sheet? And on the other end of the spectrum, what player would accept one with the current GM/coach/owner combination in Buffalo? The odds of it happening- a Blutarsky. Zero point zero.
-
Well he just scored a lovely own goal.

Harley hits people usually lol

Playing the part of Owen Power tonight will be Thomas Harley.

Caps gone. Peg is next.

Caps looked slow in this series and Ovi is showing his age. Non factor the entire series.
