I've been traveling for work and forgot the season started... (no, I didn't but the Sabres did!). Anyway.. I can't root for losses because that actually takes energy. it takes no energy to not care and that's where I am at.

Teams that don't "compete" are just teams that lack talent. You can't squeeze water from a stone.

Then Dahlin and Tage are part of the problem - where were they stepping up when the team was sucking the last 2 games?? What do they have to say for their effort that gives them the gall to think they are above this and deserve better?? enough with this players deserve better BS - they are not producing. Our issue is that we have an entire team of betas and below, and no alpha players. That’s why they do better on other teams because none of them actually are the main guy… They can just play carefree because someone else is actually pushing the team. Even Sam and Jack are not the main leaders on their team… They’re way better because they don’t have to be. Someone needs to step up here and show some balls and be an actual leader.

It's 40 minutes before face off... And WGR is still talking about the same football stories over and over and over. Is the pregame show... And maybe even the game on a different station? Anyone know? I'm out of town and fumbling through my audio/radio streaming apps and I'm not sure where to look to find it

I do. Taro, ROR smashed into a Tim Horton's in July 2015, before he ever wore the Sabres jersey in a game. He played for the Sabres for three season and was traded in 2018 after his "lost his love for the game" speech at locker cleanout. The episode with smashing the truck was long over, he was very luckily acquitted of the charges in July 2016 when the only witness was unable to identify him. He publicly apologized and thanked the Sabres for supporting him. It should have ended there and if ROR had more problem the team should have been helping him. Maybe Terry was still have been upset about the drunk driving, but he was also upset about what ROR said and insiders say he did not want to pay the bonus that was due. I expect that Terry knows that hockey players and football players are not choir boys, drug and alcohol abuse is a problem for many athletes and for many reasons. He has to be aware of this.

4th line energy guys -- 1st shift: each guy get a hit in the stats column. Go rattle the boards a bit. Even if the guy dodges, make some noise. Get the crowd buzzing. Quinn - crash the net. Take the puck and just crash the net with it and see what happens. Pretend you're Zucker. Samuelsson -- line someone up at the blue line. You might miss. Get the audience to go woooo if you do, and for the Avs forward to look back over his shoulder and say, "whoa, was that Muel-PO?" And if you hit, it'll be fun! You're heavier than anyone on their roster, even 40 year-old Brent Burns. (Edit: Muel-PO probably shouldn't do that because the possibility of getting injured is approximately 3:1.)

I'm not there with you on moving the team yet, although.. to be honest.. it wouldn't crush me if that happened. As far as everything else... Trading players, even the Stars... Coaching or front office moves.. Even a new owner... I'm all for as many of those as possible that can happen right now.

You're correct. I posted in a different thread earlier.. Or maybe this one, I'll buy back in when they have more points than games played and they have a positive goal differential. So even though you're correct, it's hard to be positive about this team in the current state, state and position. They are in two games in.. at least for now. Thompson has approached 50 goals two of the last 3 years. Tuch has been north of 35 two of the last 3 years. It will be really nice to see one... Or both of them break through. I get it on the holidays but as others have said... This isn't a holiday that many people have off for. I actually like the afternoon 1:00 p.m. games on Saturday. I wish they would do more of those.

They're within $3M of the cap (yes, some tough injuries to get around at the start of the season 1G (though, he's worse than the 2G historically), 1C (though... he's a 2C when healthy), 1LW (though, he's a 2/3LW at this point in his career), and D4 (though, he's only done that for a single season because of injuries, so he's a D6 at this point in his career)... huh. When I say it like that it's like the injuries aren't even the problem. That said! This isn't a tank. They're within $3M of the cap. This is EEE. They can't even EEE correctly. They actually played hard for Donny for about two years and showed some improvement. Adams failed to address obvious goaltending issues, the need for veteran leadership and toughness, and the overall roster depth. That would have taken a few smart trades, parting with prospects, and spending closer to cap. It all fell apart on itself. Probably why no other teams employ the develop solely from within and "no blockers" strategy??? We are now seeing the longer term effect. The youth is regressing, and starting to want out. Lindy can complain about the level of compete but other than a handful of players he is not being heard. Game 3 - maybe they will surprise us and start playing to their potential. Maybe something eventually clicks? I doubt it but maybe.

You have to admit, it is kinda sad when your favorite team sucks the life out of you 2 games into a season.....I do not want a tank!!! We would just screw up some young good kids career until he asks for a trade.
